R.I.P. :(

Sometimes I find it helpful in times of loss to think about how the only way something could hurt so badly when you lose it, is because of how happy that thing made you when it was still there. Though it deeply saddens you when it is gone, you have to remember how fortunate you were to have it in the first place.

Know were all here for you man. :peace:

Lol your animals don't like you very much do they?
Heh. Not mine. I've never had a cat who would tolerate even an attempt to put clothing on it.

On a more serious note, despite still reeling from losing my guy, a friend pointed me at a puppy of the same breed (OEBD) less than an hour from my place who is available now, and is already housebroken. Nearest other dogs of that breed I know of are more than 5 hours away. So I am going to visit the one nearby today. A five hour drive (10 round trip) would be physically devastating to me.

There is finally an OEBD rescue again, but it is clear across the country from me, in San Marcos, CA. But it's good to know it exists.

I will have a new family member at the end of this week. I visited the nearby breeder, the pup, and his sire. All were wonderful. It'll be a little weird this soon, but it seems like this was meant to be. Last pup from the litter, easy drive for me (even with my health), breeder a truly good human being (pro fire fighter) who babies his dogs. Breeder has been calling him Jax. Here's a pic from the breeder's site. He;s a week older and a little bigger now.

Campers Crumpet

What has been seen can not be unseen :|
This guy is my fur child, he is with me 24/7 except for places that don't understand that he's actually a human in dog fur.
A J loves car rides, beach walks and snuggling.
He's such an emotional dog, he gets offended, embarrassed and smiles when he's happy, I love him to bits.

I can't even imagine what this must have felt like:

And pay special attention at 2:40 in how the silverback interacts with the baby.....Like, "Be careful, humans can be dangerous, or............leave the human alone.

Looking for some advice here re the new pup (official name is Best of Bullie's Cyrus Jaxartes, either Cy [good Jewish name] or Jax for short).

The breeder had been feeding him Costco chicken-and-rice large breed puppy. But not only do I not have a Costco membership, the only one near me closed (I was going to get a membership just so the pups food wouldn't change). So I looked up the maker, nobody accessible who had it, but I found a Blue with a very similar recipe, their chicken-and-rice large breed puppy. My vet warned me that some dogs just get diarrhea near-permamnently from Blue, and almost 24 hours after he first ate it, Jax still has out-of-control diarrhea.

So I need to find a new puppy food, and apparently NOT Blue. Wish I'd known about the diarrhea / Blue issue before - I'd never have bought the stuff for a puppy. OEBD pups have very sensitive digestion as it it. I now have three almost full bags of expensive food I cannot use (two from my recently deceased dog, and now one from the new puppy).

Can anyone recommend one? I used to use Eukanuba, but they have changed their recipe so damn often. Like Van Patton, but can't find it around here anymore.
