So basically, the Corsos would make wonderful working guard dogs for families & property.

Correct. Livestock too. And that's what they have been used for in Italy for ages.

Their ancestors were used in war, and if you watch GOT, Ramsey was eaten alive by a corso in season 6.

I took this photo last spring when I found an injured owl on the ground in our backyard. Mr./Ms. Owl was not happy when I tried to get close, but I didn’t see any visible injury. I called a rescue group but by the time they arrived the owl had flown off.
