Giant Leatherback sea turtle
That is a nesting leatherback, and while they are the largest of all the marine turtles, perspective makes it seem a lot larger than it really is. The people in the background are respectfully well back, as they should be. This is a better idea of the scale:

It does! I hadn't thought of that...That dog video is cute. It's a perfect visual analogy of @pakalolo (the turtle) having to moderate FC (the dog) ...
It bothers me that the freediver in that first video seems to have mounted the camera on a speargun, which then is always pointed at the turtle. Not good.
Hawaiian green turtles have lost their fear of humans and are often curious enough to approach humans, especially the youngsters.
I've often observed a swimming turtle change direction and approach another turtle resting on the bottom just to pass close by.
That is because the turtle is flying, but in water not air. Papers have been written about the aerodynamics of marine turtles. The Book of Honu uses the flight metaphor extensively.
Have had a special place for Sea Turtles since watching this movie.... so long ago...

That is one of the saddest things I have ever read!
If it were up to me, his captors would have a new set of friends.... locked in with them, so they could have a nice cozy chat..... and even this is too good for them in relation to what they have done!
And if I said all I wanted to about this, I would be banned from this site for sure, but this is the mood I'm left with against those who tortured this elephant!

I used to have a cat that was tormented by a squirrel. That squirrel would just sit in that tree and chatter at the cat for hours and all the cat could do was just sit there, look up at him and swish his tail around in anger as if to say............."I dare you to come down. I fucking dare you !!!!!"

Such a beautiful cat. Too bad she was surrounded by, mostly, complete fucking morons who were more concerned with looking at the right camera than anything else.
Striking visuals. I truly hope that cat is treated with more reverence in her everyday life than she's treated on camera.
