hmmm you boys are really getting down...good to see civil discussions. I have been involved with cops being a firefighter and have had to work along a lot of em.95% that I was involved with on scenes were great guys. Now take away the fact that I use an illegal substance in my state,I try not to discriminate due to my illegal activity. For the most part when I get pulled over I dont show my retired status FF identification because I want to see how I am going to be treated.I do not act anything but civil and was always told by state police uncle I had, never to fake any moves, most are on heightened senses and something ugly could jump off.So I sit quietly and wait for the cop to do his thing.I have been ordered out and told to turn around and did get patted down and told to get back in the car and a few mins later he comes over and gives me back my license, tells me to slow down 10 miles over speed limit, I say thank, I never show him I am retired FF and I go on my way.I have had assholes pull me over but my results were the same.I was always taught that cops were a necessary evil and although I know that due to my illegal activities that I may not care for them but I will tell you this IMAGINE A WORLD WITH OUT THEM!! SEE THE LOOTING AND BURNING, wouldnt be a nice place with out laws.More of an apocalyptic environment!!
In the case of M.Brown if we are people of the USA we should allow the system of law to take its place. This is an incident that needs time to unravel and get ALL the facts opened up and investigated. If not then, why bother with any laws, all we will have are kangaroo courts and tyrants who can afford to manipulate more than enforce.Does the system have flaws? U BET but its better than any other system in the world.Try doing what Ferguson town did in China, Malaysia, better yet Middle east!! The same thing happened down here in FL with Zimmerman and Martin shooting. People say why do you need guns. Well that has a lot of facets. If you live in a nice Norman Rockwell town you wouldnt understand the need, move down to Miami and go over to O-TOWN or Liberty City and run those streets every day and bet you this... you will be applying for a pistol permit if you value your life and for the most part its easier than carrying a cop around.
I never needed a handgun until I moved here.Went to have a great day down in Miami and got off the train with my girl and BAM pistol whipped and opened up my skull for 20 stitches and my girl was punched in the face and iphone robbed.Well after that, I applied for a concealed carry and am I glad I did. Went out one night parked in a parking garage and we were coming back from dinner and 2 guys approached us as were were getting close to vehicle and showed a blade and demanded phones and my wallet and her purse, I went to pretend to pull my wallet and pulled out my 40 and told them WRONG WEAPON FELLAS and as soon as they saw the piece ,they vanished. Would I have used it...U BETCHA !! I have relatives that live in Baton Rouge,LA, whoa doggies... war zone in a lot of sections and most do pack due to heavy crime. Sucks big time but its whats going on in some places so, M Brown, dont know anything yet other than hear say and the facts are not all out and wont be for quite some time.
I wish we could all get along but it seems that even on a simple basis as neighbors, and family's cant make it a warm and fuzzy, let alone different countries and states and races.I try to say please and thank you where ever I go and try to look at life with a positive attitude,I beat cancer so I am very appreciative of life.
There are always going to be evil situations in the world and I try not to add to them. When I dont understand something due to its complexity or due to the undisclosed facts I wait to make my decision. There are a lot of facts here in Ferguson that have not been disclosed yet, as the same with Zimmerman and Martin case.Let the justice system iron it all out and if you dont like the verdict you can do 2 things, accept it or go on a warpath and make it even worse and justify the authorities need to use their weapons and tactics.
For me Im going into the woods so I do not have to see or be involved with the ugliness that comes from living in close proximity of society.I will grow my own and distill my own and live in peace with nature and come into society for some resources form time to time.I just want peace and dont want people with attitudes swimming around me or that want to take what I believe in, away from me. Things lately dont look to good, every where there is a serious incident going down, domestic and foreign. It looks ugly but on top of a hill w/30 acres and a sweet big stream and lake on the property will keep ALL of the ugliness away from me and my dogs.Nice big organic garden, some venison, some wild game...yummy ....to each his/her own....
to all I respect all opinions here and I might not agree with some, its the beauty of this great nation FREEDOM and boy it dont come cheap!! but we need to pay it fwd for it to remain that way!!
