Has anyone compared this to other “store bought” ball vapes? Considering one for a friend.

I have one of the OG "head, screens and balls" only versions so I can't speak on the heater iron (I had to provide my own). Outside of that it's a very nice setup, especially for the price.

I just got in the 16hole/'blaster pack' version! I will share my experiences here. Current daily drivers are the Stunner by MGVS and the megacicle, I am just now moving into more 'dekstop' class hardware in terms of space commitment, and liked the concept on this enough to give it a spin before committing to larger units. The stock balls are GR5 Ti, which is interesting! I plan to also test 2.5mm ruby balls (corundum tends to be my baller thermal media of choice in most scenarios), and maybe SiC if I want to climb the conductivity ladder even further.

My intuition says, higher conductivity is nice if the ball quantity is small. There is a smaller system that is fundamentally reactive instead of relying on a soak, dramatically more so than most desktop ballers given the heater/thermistor combo is physically inside the ball chamber and has a very high surface area to ball volume ratio. But that could be totally wrong! Just some burnoff rambling. Very curious to see how this does given the price!

Now the question is, which iron should I use? I am verging toward the handskit. Its 100w compare to 65w, hower it does look a bit cheaper.

Any one have an opinion which iron I should use?
Personally, I would not try this with a used soldering iron. A used soldering iron likely is contaminated with all kinds of stuff I do’t want to breath. At the very least, make sure you put a clean tip on it.

I like a lot about this device but I am shelving it until a better screen design comes along. It simply does not feel secure - and I even had a screen pop off during use after swapping rubies in. The device itself performs well but I can't *personally* recommend a baller with insecure balls (accepting a range of user error on my end). I will keep my eyes peeled for better solutions than pressure-fit double-sided screen; what the device ships with feel secure at first but loosen quickly in my experience. Gravity is on the wrong side of this equation too, unless you use it upside down Arizer-style (maybe the way to go tbh!)
