I made something very similar to this when the digital display went out on my Easy Vape. I took it apart and mounted the glass tube / heater with silicon grommet into a wood base that had a 1" hole drilled through it. Just wired it up directly to the power cord. No switches or electronics of any kind. Removed the whip and mounted the glass / screen section into the top of my 33 year old Toker II stopper. A separate tube extends down into the water. Also pushed the screen farther down into the glass tube to move the material farther from the heating element. This allows you to drop the material straight down onto the screen and stir as necessary. No minimum amount needed. The heated air goes straight down through the screen. The glass tube / heater is held upside down and inserted into the glass / screen section. The temperature is controlled by the depth of insertion into the tube (mixes with room air) and the rate of inhalation. You have total control. Would love to see a gong connection on both ends of the glass / screen section.
It is by far the most efficient way I have ever vaporized. Gets several more good clouds after a trip through my log vape. I added an aluminum (cut off pop can) heat shield to prevent accidental burns from the exposed glass tube / heater.

That is why they have the rubber band there, to cover the hole where the whip be, on the model with the glass globe cover.

All they really did was take the globe off and use a male glass joint for a heater cover instead of the metal hot plate.
