Last week.
What got me was how they try to force you to use the kiosk to order.
They wanted me to pay $10 to do the work.
I refused to walk up to the cash payment kiosk to pay... I did not wish to be herded through their new programming experiment.
I sat the $20 bill right on the counter where I ordered.
The girl 8-10 feet behind me at the small rolling register cart said you'll have to walk over here to pay. I said:
"I just paid right here where the cash register and employees are"
From her:
"We don't do it that way anymore. If you want to have your order put in you will have to pick up that $20 and bring it to me."
And now ... my final line as I pocketed my $20 was "Fuck You".

Except as a workaround I'll still do the drive thru for a fish sandwich once every few months. A human takes the cash, and another one hands me the bag!

I was traveling from the States to Canada in May. I no longer have to carry weed across the border as I have dozens of times. Much less anxiety. I used to wait until my evening stop over two hours from the border. So I loved that last year they opened a CannabisNB(New Brunswick) at the very first exit and an Irving gas station. How convenient. So I planned to stop at the CannabisNB store this year and before hand had consulted their website and made a few notes--I'm experienced and particular. I walked up to the door of the store and it was locked. I took out my wallet and waved my license at what looked like a tv camera. Nothing. Then I read the sign: Closed for Victoria Day. So to celebrate a long-dead queen, I was deprived of my needs. I hoped I'd be able to sleep that night.
A McDonalds had opened at the same exit so I thought I'd get dinner as I had a few more hours to drive that evening. It was open! And there was the kiosk and no visible menu above the counter. Plus everything was in a foreign(Canadian!) currency. I couldn't figure out how to order or how to pay. I still had a long way to go, but I walked out. The nearest McDonalds to where I'm now sitting, is 300 miles away. Glad I'm not the only person who could quite figure it out. Maybe I'll never figure it out...like some glitch in my computer. Then again, I'm old and cantankerous.

Most respectfully, we certainly do not live in the worst possible timeline. In fact, IMMHO, the timeline's about average.
You can donate the 50usd to your favorite non-denomimenational charity.

I was gonna make a quip about sending you a history book, any history book, in lieu of a donation. But in a way, you're sort of right. Because while our timeline is definitely very bad, it's also very funny. So maybe in the end it sort of averages out
