Just got an e-mail back from Boveda on their new 54% packs. They say 60-90 days before the item is back in stock . . .
Well that sucks. I guess they didn't expect such a high demand.
Doing some quick math on my napkin, 62-54=8. 8 / 62 = .13%, so just carefully measure your Boveda 62% pack and take some scissors and cut off 13% of the pack. If I am not using the boveda pack because I plan to vape the flowers sooner, how should I store my boveda for future use if I get a dry batch or want to store for a longer period of time. I have a food vacuum sealer. I was thinking about vacuum sealing it. I assume the boveda will dry out if I leave it out in the open for extended periods of time (weeks or a few months)?
The Boveda pack maintains a fixed humidity, meaning that it removes moisture if it's too damp and adds some if it's too dry. This means that if it dries out, you can revive it by simply putting it in your C-Vault with a damp sponge for a day or two. I don't see a problem with vacuum-sealing it, but it's not really necessary.

Hey all,
My first post yeah! Just wanted to inform everyone that I sent an email to Planet Vape a week or so ago inquiring about the Boveda 54's and apparently CVault did some testing and found them to be to dry. From PV "Boveda 54's were tested by CVault and found to be too dry. They are working with Boveda on a different %."

I know I critiqued the Boveda packs in a different post, but someone here suggested that the packs can be reconstituted by sealing in the presence of high humidity...
It works really well! I have 4 54% packs for my large CVault and they were getting brittle/hard so I threw the packs in with a saturated paper towel in a mason jar for about 6 hours and the packs appear to be revitalized! Curious to see how well they perform.
Also, to add on to steama's post above, in my limited time with these 54s I found they kept the herb in my large, half-filled CVault to remain somewhat springy and flexible, no brittleness at all.
Have any of you guys tried to keep multiple strains in one CVault? I have about 5 different eighths in small sandwich bags and that seems to work as an interim solution (I stage new acquisitions in the cvault, move them to individual Jyarz as space opens up)

I feel you on the salt thing. I guess a quick wipe with an alcohol pad would keep the exterior of the pack clean.

Hey now,
I own a small and medium C-Vault. I rehydrate my bovedas in a mason jar filled with distilled water. I have glued two of the smallest 'spring back/fold back' office clips to the lid and hang the packs using the clips. Three days later they are ready to be reused. You could also just glue paper clips to the lid as an alternative.....

I live in a dry place and by keeping a hygrometer inside my jars, I found that the seal is not good enough to stop the humidity inside from dropping. If C-Vaults or Jyars provided a better seal, they would be worth the expense to me, even without using the Boveda packs.
I have used 58% RH Boveda packs before, prior to having a hygrometer. The flowers seemed moister in with the 58% packs than they have in the jar when the hygrometer says 58%. Will be interesting to test the packs with the hygrometer.
The 58% packs have provided the best storage results I have had. I don't think I would want it any drier but would be curious to try both the 54% and 62% packs.

However I am hoping that even though there is only half of the product in there it will still work efficiently in the cure as I am going away for a week and won't be able to burp or check.

Suppose I am asking do you guys fill or is any product in the container that is not packed in is able to cure in controlled humidity?

As long as it's air-tight and your product is not too wet or dry to be curing, you're fine. The only drawback is that it will take a bit longer for the proper humidity to be reached, but I doubt you'll notice. When in doubt, an extra Humidipack doesn't hurt anything.

Just wanted to relay my experience with Randy at pufffitup. Took advantage of the recent sale for 20 percent off cvaults. Thanks for the great tip kief.
I ordered one of each of the 4 sizes.
I received my package extremely fast. When I opened it up there was the x large missing . Also one of them had slivers of metal inside where the rivets attach the clasps. Emailed Randy and within a few days I had my 2 cvaults at my door step. He also threw in a beautiful piece of glass no charge. I had read what great service Randy has through reading these forums. I will happily order now through Puffitup.
Anyone have any problems and he will take great care of you.

I find sometimes the seal isn't perfect. There has been plenty of times I can smell the weed through the c vault when it's supposed to be smell proof. I can smell weed sometimes along the edges of the lid with the larger ones, and with the smaller ones, I've opened my backpack only to have a huge waft of dank hit me in the face. Kind of upsetting considering the price but oh well, they at least work perfect (least for me) for keeping my stuff fresh. I don't think the ring around the lid has anything spilled on it messing with the seal. I have noticed this many times, especially with the smaller ones.

Have you made sure there's nothing interfering with the rubber gasket? With the smaller sizes, you have to fold the Boveda packs so they don't overlap or interfere with the gasket.
Have you reached out to Cvault? They're really nice guys; I wouldn't be surprised if they do something for you.
