The cvault definitely does a good job of keeping your material in very nearly the same state as when you first put it in (sometimes it will even look better)... it's really impressive how fresh it looks/smells, even after a couple months or more in the vault.
For immediate usage, you could certainly use a cvault with no humidipak and you'd get fine results.
I like to keep my stuff in the cvault for long-term, and then I'll keep about a week's worth in my pollen box, and another week's worth in a cheap, "air tight" (yeah, right) glass jar... after the pollen box material is gone, I transfer the glass jar stuff to the box, and take another week's worth out of the cvault to put in the glass jar. Keep it on a nice cycle.
Also, a cvault with no humidipak is a great place to store your duff for future cooking use...
I would not recommend using your material straight out of a cvault with humidipak. I mean, you CAN vaporize it, but... it is most certainly not an optimal way to go about it...
