But it sounds like we are opening another chapter entitled "Broken/Thin Bamboo". I'm even less excited to read this new development. At least the "auction" only revealed that people who paid $1000s got passed over for a random reviewer first. The cracking bamboo may be ALL of our problems very soon?

No offense, but you're way off base. There have been a number of test units produced along the way to get the feedback from experienced vaporists, that includes some before Fanatics received units and others produced later, to test out, e.g., the firmware tweak, which btw has been the only major issue to arise, one which fortunately is easy to fix.

Those that have had the bamboo crack have been mostly units both wrapped too tight and with the runaway firmware. I have one of those units, but the glass is still fine. And with the new firmware the unit will not accumulate sufficient heat to impair the glass. I've seen this confirmed with a test unit. AFAIK it hasn't been decided what will be done with that unit after testing. But I'll be sure let everyone know if there is a charity auction so there is no lost opportunity to rag.

For some perspective, SM has posted that the defect rate has been 4.7%. While that is not unusual for a new product/production facility, it is nonetheless higher than the industry norm of 2% and unacceptable. In absolute terms though, the number is relatively small because VXL has tightly controlled batch sizes (much to the consternation of folks waiting, as this has pushed out shipments). The last batch to ship was the largest, and it has the new firmware. Given that there are IGG units not yet shipped let alone pre-orders, once they all do that 4.7% should drop substantially.

Yup I'm anticipating (though not Heinz ketchup ;) )... as an EB/IGG supporter I was perfectly aware that this product roll-out would most likely be interrupted as feedback/issues/concerns were reported from each batch shipped. That was planned.

I was also quite aware that I may end up with a unit that needed to be tweaked. Yup it happened. I don't yet know if my bamboo actually cracked/broke, or if it was just runaway temps (went from being able to vape all the way up to Max, to having combustion happen at 10), but my unit, sent back, is providing yet more intelligence for VXL to be able to ramp up to FULL PRODUCTION of flawless units.

So sorry that not everyone has gotten their EVO yet. Perhaps when you do get it, it will be flawless. @oldiebutgoodie I appreciate all of your postings, ESPECIALLY ^ that one.

All I care about is that VXL gets it all worked out this time. I have been one of the completely satisfied customers who has a ticker Cloud that is 18+ months old and still working perfectly. I KNOW what these guys are capable of and I'm sure they will not be one hit wonders. Innovation from VXL is something I am expecting for years to come.

Honestly man, I feel this, some of us int'l folks have been waiting yeeeaaarrss for a VXL product. I'm just hoping the international product doesn't come with its own set of issues. . . Damn that would hurt. Especially as my DBV just is not doing it for me any more. To the point where I'm not getting high at all these days.
Hopefully it just means that when I get my evo it will really punch me in the face.

Sounds like your excitement and anticipation is still intact, good for you. I think I've lost mine unfortunately but definitely good to see there are others who haven't yet. Hope it arrives soon Iscalzo, everyone else's as well for that matter.

Trying too. I got a good feeling about next week thou.

They haven't shipped anything since before Christmas. So I think a mass order is going out soon.

The bottle of champagne just added the excitement back because now I get champagne and the evo.

Hopefully, but they've been pretty vocal about their plan to release in incremental batches. And with the calibration and glass cracking problems that have been occurring recently , it seems like a bad time to be ramping up production. If anything I would expect them to temporarily scale batches down in order to isolate the problems until they are able to effectively eliminate them. :2c:

Well imo they had a bunch of folks sign p and jump on board when they said that stuff was gonna ship a while ago, now it seems things have slowed down....hopefully they still will have pre orders shpped by then end of the month

Im wondering why they decided to split the company in two pieces thousands of miles apart? just curious
