Fedex dropped the ball for the online tracking of mine.
The "local agent" has had it since monday but the delivery date is still "n/a"
edit: called fedex just now, "local agent" is the post office! If vxc had just priority-mailed it to me in the first place I would have had it days ago, in time for xmas and probably cheaper for vxc.
And in the end fedex
mailed it to me the cheapest way possible, so who knows when I'll get it.
Yet they bring ~$50 worth of amazon crap to my doorstep for free every month!
More of a sour taste in my mouth, hopefully the first hit will wash it out.
Did I mention that I'm not crazy about fedex?
edit2: Okay so I went to the post office (at 17 below zero) and picked up this giant box with a pelican-type case bouncing around inside, along with an unassambled evo box that was beat to shit from rumbling around with the pelican case and absolutely no packing materials. The box was big enough for three pelican cases easy, so kind of a curious choice considering all of the lead time they had. But luckily it arrived safely, and
testing can commence.
after a bit of testing from noon to 3pm, I was able to both get to the edge of combustion and find my sweet spot, and get very very high in the process. From reading about this thing seemingly forever in waiting (I know, it was much longer for some of you!), I would say that my unit is calibrated properly.
The swaggertube is very cool, if a bit smaller overall than anticipated--much like the evo itself. I tried it, my older vxl hydratree, and inverted on the blaze bong as I was dialing the evo in. The case is bombproof and worth every penny so I can actually see why there was an absence of packing material but that was a
really big box.
Because of the extreme anticipation involved it would be impossible for the evo to live up to expectations immediately, so I will withhold overall judgement while getting to know it better. It works very well, but I can already tell that for myself its ultimate challenge may be ergonomic, in that it may not fit quite as well into my routine/environment as well as my other daily drivers.
However it's definitely a beautiful device, and the storage case makes it ideal for tucking away so we shall see. It's been said already, but yes the evo is capable of very thick, sublimator-like clouds although I need to compare directly dry through the launchpad. I was a bit bummed that the dry mouthpiece wasn't part of the deal, for comparing dry setups. With the herbalizer coming next week the evo may ultimately become a luxury, but it's a luxury I would like to hold onto so time will tell.
out to this thread, have no worries the wait is definitely worth it
