Hey FC! It was time to open this thread and hopefully as this brilliant idea helped me to love vaping even more, it will do some good for you too!
I got the idea from a post Alan made here: http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/the-hi.4693/page-26#post-186374, although it was also already mentioned here 2 years ago: http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/ssv-idea.165/#post-31832. Cudos to Alan and the rest of the guys! At least I, owe you one for making vaporizing a much better experience!
I am sure some of you have already been using this even before I discovered it and others just made one recently. I hope through this tread we can evolve this concept even more and watch people come out with some really interesting variations!
For me the pros of using a vapor lung instead of a bubbler/bong or direct draw are the following:
1) Cheap, almost free construction, anywhere you want to be. Being on a trip or a visit to a friend's house, you can just carry the cap and reducer or just the cap (you 'll see later) and make one vapor lung on the spot.
2) Idiot proof! Doesn't break if it falls so you can pass it to your most clumsy friends and be cool about it.
3) Easy cleaning! Just replace bag and wash bottle with warm water and soap. No more costly ISO (for some of us it's really expensive)!
4) Drag free! One of the worst problems people face with their vaporizers. Difficult draw even gives headaches to some people, including me. Not any more. The Lung is doing the hard work for you. Everyone can enjoy free flow vapor, just like you do from any bag vaporizer (without the cost and complexity)! That saved my teeth, tongue and throat guys. No drug means you can clean this in a sec instead of having a steady flow of vapor hitting the mouth and throat for 10-30 secs. Additionally a session can be greatly shortened. A quick session on the lung takes me just 4 mins sometimes, for a full bowl. Of course I can enjoy it at a slower pace if I want but I can't equally hurry if needed with direct inhaling or bubbler. You would need a very big bong for this... So it can be REALLY fast for you to medicate!
5) It's the ultimate customizable platform!!! The Thermovape pales in comparison! We're talking Infinite number of bodies and accessories!!! You could even make one for every occasion. Big, small, huge, humongous (for parties ), nano (for the cat or baby ), for every room, for the pool (???), anything can go...
6) Even if you have only one, you can use it almost anywhere with ease. Standing up, on the couch, lying on the bed, walking. A bubbler might be preferable on a desk though...
7) It's the best party accessory of course! Make a big one, fill it yourself (you know how to do it better after all!) and then just pass it around reminding the people to respect the beast! You wouldn't want to do that with your precious 400$ bubbler/bong right? It takes more time and is very fragile! I have seen numerous posts about broken glass here...
I will leave you to add more pros here...
The Cons? Hmmm, Not so nice to look at... My mother didn't like it for sure... To some might look like you are sniffing glue... Definitely not something to suck in public although I used it in a crowded University camping this summer and girls would come, ask AND try!
So, let's go to how you make one... Fairly easy for most people, just pay attention to a couple of details for best experience and less problems on the way.
First find a nice hard plastic bottle. You don't want a flimsy soda bottle as it's sides will be sucked in and you won't have much sucking force. I used a huge 5lt wine bottle in this instance. Dedicated to mvapes!
Cut the bottom as straight as you can with a pair of scissors or sharp blade.
Melt the rough ends with a lighter so the bag won't tear.
Get an appropriate sized food bag (I prefer it cause it's softer) or a turkey bag if it suits you and check for holes. You need it to be able to fill the inside of the bottle when sucked in...
tape it around the bottom of the bottle with electric tape or gaffer tape or similar...
Put a tie-wrap at the end and roll some tape above it for a good central grip...
Melt the cap at the center with a hot iron skewer or similar and work your way to the outside of the cap with a circular motion, trim, and press a 18/14 GonG reducer in... You all know how much better GonG is right? And it will suit most GonG vapes of course!
If you are carefull enough you won't need any sealant. Pressure is enough to achieve an airtight fit. Otherwise try some silicon or just electric tape.
That was it folks. Party vapor lung ready for my guests! I also call him "bed time"...
You can customize with stickers of course, jambandphan03, I know you want it!
Get crazy mates! I hope we see some good ideas around here to make this even better.
Usage videos will follow shortly but feel free to start without me if you feel like it! Let's milk those bottles!!!
