I tried this at the Kush Expo in LA a couple of months back.

I feel like searching for the perfect device for PG has become somewhat of a Holy Grail quest for me. I've tried the CE4 carto, Bud atty, 2.4 D9 cart at 3.7v, 7.4v Herc, and the Dart. So far, I've had the best results with the Dart. I have high hopes for the Cera EO core (patiently waiting) and the 1701 from D9.

Anyway, back on topic- although my spidey sense :spidey: was telling me that this was going to be just another e-cig turned vape pen, I felt compelled to give it a shot because it was being offered by TetraLabs.

I love the idea of having carts/tanks pre-filled with PG that I can just pop in whenever I want. Sadly, this feature wasn't enough to save this pen.

The 2 things that I found:
  1. The taste is HORRIBLE; very burnt flavor.:puke:
  2. I did not get medicated whatsoever. Granted, I have a relatively high tolerance, but c'mon...
IIRC, d-limonene can have a bad reaction with plastic?
All in all, I would steer folks away from this.

Never really had high hopes for this one, either. Once you get a TV or D9-quality product, it's just not the same going to something inferior :(

As bad as UpUp said? I think it's the damn oil reservoir that gets ruined from repeated heat exposure. Cooks all the oil pretty fast and it tastes like 'claim. The amps are so nice because you don't really have to commit to more than what you can squeeze out.

so far, aside from the D-9 and TV gear, almost all of the "oil" carts I have seen on the market have been rebranded e cig parts with a big mark up. I still have yet to try PG, but learned quite a bit about it from keeping up the D-9 and TV threads. Has the potency/quality of PG been maintained over the past year or so as the demand has grown?

IMO PG tastes awful, I remember blaming the Revolution ceramic for the bad taste since PG was the first concentrate I put in it.

While that is no doubt true, at least in some cases, there are a couple more explanations I think are worth considering. Sometimes, I think, no salesman is needed since the customer comes to them looking for the cheapest POS that can pass muster in an effort to make the most bucks from the trusting customers they plan to fleece. No salesmen needed, just a web address and cheap quotes. Greedy Profit minded folks will find them.

Another possibility is they do have great salesmen working for them that manage to convince the 'makers' of these revolutionary developments that there really are enough ignorant customers to fill their coffers.....and they may well be right there?

No matter how you slice it, I think 'how can I make the most money?' is asked way more often than 'how can I provide the best possible product at a reasonable price to my customers?'. Capitalism can do that too.

I noticed the same thing about the taste, especially out of Cera/REV where pretty much all your tasting is the oil. Someone else said it first but the taste is like having a doctors/dentist latex glove in your mouth lol. Its still been potent the last few times I tried it, I really only use it for vacations or when I'm really trying to be discreet because it has no weed smell.

Love PG and the goldpen! It's the only concentrate I've tried that has no smell of cannabis. It is a fucking ninja and I hit it at work with no smell at all. I like the taste and get great rips off it. When you need to be stealth it's the best I've found.

Forgot to add, the goldpen comes with an ego T atomizer that's a couple years old kinda hard to find and pricey around $10-12. Yes I realize the dispensary will replace a dead one for free but it's nice to have spares. I highly recommend changing the atomizer to an ego C. It's a 3 part atomizer and a 5 pack is $25-30. Any vapor store has them. Make sure it's the tapered housing style. Quite certain it's ego C type A.

I don't think so. I don't see why they would, considering what they charge... In fact, I'd be surprised if they did.

The product in the preloaded cartridge is the same as what they sell in the little squeeze tube. I'm fairly certain it's just oil and limonene.

Yeah,,.. Plus, I received an order of cartridges just today, so they are definitely still (and always as long as I've known...) available.

NEW Gold-PEN FOR TETRALABS! :brow: Having done an extensive in person search for a manufacturer they really like, they will have the new model available in 2~3 weeks! I am certain all the comments here were helpful constructive criticism.
I am a loyal PG customer now, I have never found a product that is in fact, so, stable consistent and reliable.
I can't wait to try GoldPen v2 ! If there isn't one already I will create an actual new 'post' when it's available.

The half gram 'squeeze tube capsules' are $40 not $60 btw and Considerably Less if you buy multiples with free shipping kicking in at only $80. The Cartridges are $50 (with deals and stuff) and are easily refilled but I like to have a new one every 3-4 fill-ups... Always nice to have a brand new mouth-piece too....

I'm glad you edited your post, I was like; who cares how much YOU pay for Puregold, either share the source or shut up, it's not show and tell for 5 year olds. Everybody pays $35 if they buy 10 at once...

He had been getting abuse, name-calling and such from other customers (specifically because he would not discuss things they did not deal with). I came along and think the camels back broke.. But he apologized and explained gave me a link to what I need..
I've had enough bad days and dealt with enough irate people to understand he was just having one of those nights...

So,.. cool it worked out, I now know about the thread sizes and have better feel for both what I need and what will work for my friend and convince him he will get his nicotine but without the 100+ extra toxins and carbonized cancerous burned plant matter!! (that sentence should convince Anyone to give up cigarettes)..

They have Chrome batteries!... ;~)

HEY HAYWOOD, you were right!

Thanks for the help everybody. It was nice to have a place to go to vent and get some camaraderie!..

The pen is ruined. It leaked all over the battery and wasted an entire thing of PG. I barely used it. Still a fan of PG but not their pens.

If anyone cares Pure Gold works very well in the 2.4ohm Omicron carts from UP Tech. The carts will fit almost any e cigarette battery with the proper thread adapter. They also use g pen threading so no adapter needed for those.
