DHGate stuff?
Ok, so who are you wearing in this last vid (the glass, mate...not your t-shirt! LOL)noooo haha american glass only on my segment.
bates x worm diffusion pump. kneejerk reaction there, i know we have chinese products in our everyday life..i'm no saint, but it's nice to be able to support at least one american industry. USA glass ftw
finally got around to reviewing this stuff, the bhombline. have a good week everyone!
Holy shit man that's a hefty price!finally got around to reviewing this stuff, the bhombline. have a good week everyone!
Why do you say its not full melt? Did you see the video where he dabs it and it melts...fully looks to me.Holy shit man that's a hefty price!
$100 a gram and it's not full melt? Is that rosin (it looks like most of my rosin when it nucleates) or is it BHO or something solvent based?
Are there terp/residuals/cannabinoid COA's available somewhere on this one? I am curious now at how this can be justified lol
efinitely try pulling your coil apart so it fits snugly on the Liger. increases efficiency big time and i find that having the coil loosely rotating around really bugs me.
...definitely try pulling your coil apart so it fits snugly on the Liger. increases efficiency big time and i find that having the coil loosely rotating around really bugs me. this is resolved with the heat shield but i still like to have it really snug so the whole piece feels really solid.
Watching Terpy Tuesday led me to go buy a Bates x Worm diffusion Pump last week. I was sick of lusting after one, so I pulled the trigger at a local shop that had 2. Now I need a Liger 3.0 setup and that new Vape handle. At least I have until October for the 3.0. I had thought about trying to get a Chinese company to make me a flat coil to spec. I'd be willing to order 3-4 if other people wanted them and it lowers the unit cost. I'll do my own XLR wiring since I built my controller.Another outstanding professional review. I really do look forward to seeing the notice that another Terpy Tuesday has been posted. I don't want to be critical of other online reviewers, but I have a really hard time watching most of them. Yours have always been coherent, articulate, and intelligible plus you make my mouth water with your CA concentrates.
My state med program is law but they are just issuing licenses to growers and processors this past week so I'm at least 6-9 months away from having choices like you guys do. Outstanding....really outstanding.
I noticed the Liger 3.0 right way. This is the 20 mm SIC version in this video, correct? I'm interested in the 3.0 for two reasons; 1) is the coil shroud which is very cool for temp efficiency and stability as you noted and; 2) I'm very interested in the new cap design as I have found the only thing I'm not ecstatic about on my Liger is the race way (cut groove) in the 2.0 storm cap. I find I often fumble a bit getting the bucket in the groove to spin. The rounded cap looks like it will self-guide into place better and that's outstanding.
As a CCA 710 beta user, do you know if we can upgrade Liger 2.0 to 3.0 config. I should think just a new bucket for the insert, shroud, and cap (no need for new stem) and you are in but not sure.
I know I asked about your Bates & Worm diffuser pump earlier. I would like a Bates version but received a special notice about the GravLabs version for $109 (!!) and I bought it (but don't yet have it). If its not well made or doesn't work well (and I believe it will as this is an official Bates/GravLabs collaboration) then I will shell out the dough for the OG pump. But the bathroom remodeling job going on in my house at the moment (shoot me if I ever start another home improvement project) has drained me. LOL
Question: whose coil is that going to your Liger 3.0?
I ask because, while hard to tell, it appears to have a shroud or insulated part near the coil so you can handle it while still hot. True or am I seeing things? I just added a New Vape Flower Pot handle to my coil which is a cheap Chinese Hot Runner 20mm. The NewVape handle is a couple of pieces of aluminum and some waxed hemp to wind around it after its installed. Not much to it but it works very well. NewVape's site seems to be down at the moment, but this is a picture of what I'm talking about.
Re-reading this and my other posts in this thread, I'm afraid that at 64 y.o. that I have become a Terpy Tuesday groupie! . Oh, how embarrassing.
Cheers
You are right my friend, it definitely melts when dabbed (as we know, if it is solvent based and doesn't fully melt, something went very wrong!). What I meant is that if this is not hash or some other low yield or expensive solvent/multiple process type product, it is very difficult to see how the price can be justified in terms of input costs vs output costs compared to other Cali prices for errl. Why do you say its not full melt? Did you see the video where he dabs it and it melts...fully looks to me.
Yes, that's a f*cker of a price, I agree on that.
Also, he says its cake batter which I take to mean its made from BHO and its going to melt.
Please school me if I'm missing something here.
Cheers

I tend to take terms like wax/cake batter/shatter/crumble/budder etc only to refer to consistency. I have made wax from full melt bubble hash. I've made shatter with rosin. I've made crumble with just about every solvent you can imagine. Budder can be made with anything at all of course. Cake batter IME is a consistency that appears in rosin very frequently just through nucleation alone over time in the right ambient conditions. Even more interestingly if you get a nice flat slab of full melt bubble that is still wet onto low heat and whip it to nucleate it, we can even achieve cake batter consistencies in hash!
In my experience, it is important to completely separate the consistency (and terms used above) from the extraction method.
It is easier to say full melt as I did originally without necessarily saying hash because this qualifier is only used to describe hash - a solvent extract is assumed to fully melt, or is most certainly badly processed. Still, it is a perfectly good question to ask for clarification
I tend to always ask the extraction method and never assume in the Cali market too, I've noticed a lot of manufacturers are not super clear about this on the labelling (though some are better than others with this, I believe Xtractology always list the method of extraction in at least that much detail on their product packaging).
Bhombline is a reasonable suggestion it is bho though, I just wanted to be clear lol. In my mind, BHO just cannot be worth so much without some especially unique additional processing or something! Not to say this isn't actually the case - I would be fascinated to speak to the guys who made it and find out but again, I don't expect this is information that would be shared
Always a pleasure to shoot the shit with you manAh...now I understand what you meant. Wow, electronic communication is so subject to misunderstandings. Email in a work environment is the worst of all.
I agree...$100/gr for stirred up BHO wax is very high price and I also wonder why. Chase mentioned celebrities being given this stuff so maybe its a boutique brand for rich people??
I also view all of those descriptions as basically consistency of solvent extracted concentrates.
Anyway, thank you very much for the reply and illuminating my understanding.
Cheers
i'm going to be building a full review of the Liger over the coming weeks here very similar to the TT format. just need to get all the parts. soon.
regarding the price tag. i didn't want to stir the pot in the video because the more i talk about it the more it makes the company look like ass. to be frank, i hate this oil for being what it is, an over hyped, over marketed oil that is worth no more than $70. i could see myself paying $80 to try a live resin form if they ever did that but it's a cured nug run of some dank OG..so glad to have reviewed it so i can never, ever pay this price again ever.
the price justification back in the day was that they had to pay a lot for the source material, the hardcore OG was actually curated by a 3rd party crew @russianassassinboyz & @greenwizardmac and they have (and still do have) exclusivity over the seeds and didn't really do price breaks on packs. now, all the hardcore for the bhombline is grown on a commercial level by WCC which is now mostly or completely owned by Weedmaps. the WCC genetic is definitely not the Russian genetic so they are basically just charging $100 for the name and what is probably a 2nd rate cut from a bag seed or their teams best attempt at a clone grown on a massive scale. details past this point are very foggy and inner circle only from what i can tell.
there are videos of the flat coil now on my instagram and it will be in the next TT: https://www.instagram.com/ccchase420
Well said. Some of these oil companies down here are charging STUPID prices for what is essentially great-but-I've-definitely-had-better-at-equal-or-cheaper-prices tier. This is also with consideration to our prices down here in SD and the situation we talked about a page or so back. Hell, for $70+ you may as well just buy that in great flower and press out rosin... It's not like these bigger name companies have issues getting quantities of weed... Up in LA there's this girl that runs the company Miss Nug Run, pretty sure she's with BAMF Extracts (as in, in real life together), I had some Tangie Dream Live Resin that was $35/70 and abso-fuckin-lutely worth it. And that was up in LA, at LA prices (Gold Coast was 25/45 I believe?). I feel like there are a fair few extract and flower companies that are super hyped and expensive... sometimes I feel like people buy into it and don't want to say it's just "good" or "great" instead of "fuck you into next week" quality, maybe to save face or something. "Cured nug run" is how they can sell it with ignorance IMO... "cured nug" is literally regular weed. Weed that was cured like it's supposed to be cured, then just ran. People will really buy into some of this stuff, it's wild.i'm going to be building a full review of the Liger over the coming weeks here very similar to the TT format. just need to get all the parts. soon.

When referring to things with the "melt" suffix it implies hash of some form, not concentrates. When you make bubble hash, there are different melt or star grades, 1-6? I believe. 6 star melt is mechanically separated trichomes that melt very well. 2-3 star is like cooking/joint grade maybe. If you watch this video, around 3:40 he starts showing the different stars/grades of hashes, low to high, and you can see how melty they get. "Full melt" is more expensive than half/three-quarter melt obviously. $100 a gram for the BHOmb line is not reakky comparable to the higher quality melty melty bubble hashes I've seen, which is why herbivore was saying. Paying $100 a gram should get you some stupid fire bubble hash or rosin. Fuck, for $50 I could buy enough flower to press out +/- a gram of rosin (assuming 5 grams and 20% yield). For $100 you could get some really good bubble and rosin it... you get the point. 50/100 is ridiculous and I agree with @ccchase420 and @herbivore21Why do you say its not full melt? I agree man, if I were in your position I'd have done the same as you, mention that it is unjustifiably expensive in a brief and diplomatic way and then move on to review it as you would other material. It makes sense not to wanna look super anti-WCC by panning it really badly because of price alone.i'm going to be building a full review of the Liger over the coming weeks here very similar to the TT format. just need to get all the parts. soon.

You pretty much echoed my thoughts on concentrate pricing here. In the Cali market, full melt is really all that can be justified at prices like $100 a gram. Some advanced solvent extractions and products requiring even more complicated processing may justify such a cost (seriously, some of the best solvents for chemists to do some really clever stuff with cannabinoids can cost a hell of a lot of $$$!). BHO on the other hand just can't compete with these kinds of products, and the price has got to reflect that. It's not that I've heard of many other BHO products charging premium like this, but if it is just very nice BHO with no extra labor/cost input to justify that markup, then it should only justify a small price increase above other BHO - not to be propelled into the pricerange of extracts that plain BHO can't compete with!Well said. The MNR Tangie Dream, you can see it was starting to sugar up from the terps. Shit was wild, I had that... late March or early April and I still think about it. I would pay $70 all day forever for this. Looks run of the mill for live resin, but the taste was fantastic and the effects incredible. Don't get me wrong, the shit you reviewed looks great, but it's just... nug run... of some dank flower. Not live resin, not rosin, not sift turned into rosin... just regular ol' nug run nucleated oil. I get why you reviewed it, because it's a recognizable/"big" brand around here. I just don't like getting some good shit and finding out it's not as great as it was hyped, and I hate seeing it happen to other people.

Yeah, I agree on the price...that's BS and I do also agree that Chase handled it perfectly in his video. No, it was BHO. The point they made was simply that when you refer to something as "full melt" people think bubble hash and not hash oil. That and the too-high prices of BHO in CA were the main points. I don't think you're missing anything more.
