Tafée Bowle

Yes. I find unless I wipe it away every so often it builds up I guess because the whole stem acts as a condenser. Also bits of flower sometimes come loose and get mashed up in that area. Try touching around the stem close to where the bowl sits and connects to the puck. Usually a bit sticky/oily there.

I haven't noticed anything similar. Could be my small loads?

and another one: is that flaking, wearing-off and "dust" issue really gone with the stem of the TB2? can long-time users confirm?
I would say the finish absolutely still needs work.

My stems show(ed) lots of wear from light use where the detent on the puck scrapes which is right above where the goods go

If it is anodizing then it’s garbage because it’s like paint I can scrape off with my finger nail

I moved on from the tb2 due to this

Edited to add: otherwise it’s a great vape

If I'm not mistaken, the part of the stem which receives the hottest vapor (directly under the ceramic pot) is made of stainless steel. So by the time the vapor gets to the aluminum it's already partially cooled down. Not to mention the fact that it's anodized so the vapor never comes in contact with "raw" aluminum.

Non anodized (bare) aluminum instantly forms the exact same oxide layer when exposed to oxygen.

Anodized aluminum only provides a thicker oxide layer. The surface composition is the same.

Sorry...

I've brought up this dust issue two or three times... I'm a bit responsible...

My experience is old in vaporizer terms, now... it was with the TB OG, more than 4 years ago...

I didn't want it to be completely forgotten so that everyone could be aware of it...
(and because I regret the handling of the issue at the time, and because I'd like it to be 200% resolved - SS stem or glass stem? - so I can order a new one)

But I also don't want it to generate fears if it's no longer justified!

I'm going to stop bringing up this experience here... this FC thread will serve as a reminder!

Since then, as far as I know, no other user has been as bothered as me... and that was 3-4 years ago, so...

Mea culpa for my insistence on this old, painful memory!

✌️💚
I'm with you on the 200% resolved part. It's a downer because I think alternatives are possible (but maybe you lose some cooling, idk...).

I think the earlier entry mentioned them working on an alternative stem to choose from instead, but I don't see other options for the second device. Idk, still might pick it up even with the current stem but it is the one thing that make me hesitate. I know no comparisons but it is the one thing that makes me consider tm2 over this, but tm2 also seems to have an unisolated airpath possibly, so there are not perfect options tbh..

Whaaat? Could you share some pics? This would be a huge deal breaker. I'm surprised it hasn't been brought up more.

Check out this comparison thread:

Frolic is the new hotness, but only if you don't mind the PEEK plastic. Otherwise the ConVex V2 sounds very interesting and might have "better" materials in most of the vapor path.

tricky situation. as it seems some do have the problem and others don't.

There's a very small roller catch, spring loaded, that make the stem a friction-fit, with nothing to tighten or loosen to insert or remove it. It's great!.
But yes, there is friction and a very small line of wear becomes apparent after a while. It is not in, but near, the vapor path.
If this is a deal breaker for some, so be it, but it is not at all for me.
I'll let go of this, but I mean to express that, in my opinion a mountain is being made of a mole hill.

thanks a ton for your input guys! after checking how the build quality is i instantly decided to keep it. it feels and looks awesome!

i just had my first bowle and it was AMAZING!!! incredible device!

i have a question regarding the LED. i used the press & hold method on stage 4 temp. after finishing the bowle i emptied the stem and just checked the battery status. it showed me 5 LEDs. i switched the puck to stage 3 and let it sit. after a while the 3 LEDs were not blinking anymore but soon after only the 5th LED light up. is that normal?

Not sure I understand the situation... After you left it sitting at power level 3, it should just go to sleep after a while if you didn't shut it down and be in standby mode with no lights on. Now you see only a light on the 5th LED?

Ok, weird.
Sometimes I think that a LED is on depending at the angle you look at it but it's really not. I see this effect for example when I check the battery level. Sometimes I'll see 4 LEDs lit up for the battery level but some light leaks through and it'll look like the 5th LED is kinda lit but it's dimmer for example. Could this have been what you saw?

Well, that'll teach you not to go foolin' around right after a bowl! ;)
I say, if it repeats this, you might drop a note to Support. I'm guessing it will be fine. (I have no suggestion about how it happened.)
I do wonder, did you let the first charge on the device go full term?

i doubt it. dark room and it was lighting constant white. i took it, checked battery again just to see if the LEDs would light up. and the constant lighting was off and didn't come back on so far...

yep. all 5 LEDs blue on and left it sitting plugged in with full 5 for about 45minutes.

Ok. Strange but hopefully a one-off thing.
Now you can concentrate on how awesome the hits are 😍

I had this happen too when I first got it..I talked to Tafée about it and they said it's a normal thing that happens when it's new & to not worry..it will shut off after one minute..or what I learned was to press the Top button 3 times and it stops that..it's rare that this happens but usually does it after back to back bowls and it's pretty hot..mine was a white/red light or lights..anyway, it's ok . But press top button 3 times if it does do it again..

Another thing...I asked Tafée about using Level 5 for dry herb and they said "YES, even tho it's designed for concentrates, You can use Level 5 for Dry herb and it will not hurt the Unit and will not combust Your Herb..I pretty much leave it on 5 but depending on the herb, I can also get great hits at level 3..esp. after it's been warmed up....Enjoy.!!!

the taste is incredibly good, the vapour is awesome and dense, the unit looks great. i can see why it has so many adorers :)

and i am going to use the drinkware a lot. i love different beverages from small manufacturers. so this will come in handy. when i don't need it i let it off.

^^ Lol level 5 can and will combust flower. It’s insanely powerful.

Left stem has 3 pots through it and right stem has 15 or so. Can poke the edge of the finish chipping and easily chip more. I wasn’t willing to see how bad it’s going to get after the way it looks with such little use. Also note the writing on the right stem is almost gone. If this finish is an improvement from the v1 then wow.

Also the feet on the bottom we’re losing coating too. Otherwise I left the cup on to protect as much of the puck as possible

Would be great for all of you if you had an improved coating over mine. I am no longer Bowle 2 curious after my personal experience but maybe others would benefit from seeing USED Bowle 2 pics with no wear.

Edit to add: is this acceptable after 20ish pots? Also note where the pots go in and out of the stem. There are signs of wear (in the vapor path) around the lip

I have gotten the beginning of combustion from a huge hit on level 5. It’s not easy, but doable, and difficult to get the funky taste out if you do combust.

I did combust once and I had to take the stem apart to clean it because the smell just lingered. But, it was not a problem taking it down...easy. Beautiful vape in every way.

Thanks for sharing. That's very concerning!

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Did you try reporting it to Tafée?
