Struggling between Extreme Q and DBV

Hello everyone,

It has been a long time since I've been here. The last time I posted I claimed about purchasing a product, but long story short things did not fall through. Now, however, that my first college year is over and my birthday is coming up soon I'm resuming the vaping route as I want to stop combusting. I'm pretty health conscious and while I know the herb isnt terrible to smoke, there's just a much healthier way to accomplish what I want.

Anyway, I posted on another forum about purchasing a Solo until I realized that a desktop would better suit my needs. Here is my criteria that has been posted in that other thread:
"
Great vapor quality, as much as allowed by my price range (the colder, the better)
Ease of use
Even vape
Portability (for a desktop, as in transporting it to my house to a friend's house and plug it to a wall. But it'll most likely be for my home and on-campus apartment)
Smell (this is for on-campus usage, and how fast it goes away)
And last but certainly not least, how well it conserves the herb. I'm pretty broke for the summer so my birthday money is summer money and I want to use as little herb as possible."

I moved over to ask on this forum because in this forum it's nothing -but- vaporizers with expert experiences with it instead of other newbies trying to help out (although it is extremely appreciated regardless). I narrowed my searches down to these two products, and completely torn by them. The one complaint I would have to give Da Buddha that I know of thus far is the fact that there is nothing to gauge where your temperature is at, which gives the EQ an advantage.

As much as I love the versatility the EQ offers, I feel like by having a dual-use vaporizer, the whip-style quality would be "sacrificed" so to speak. Clouds are cool, but not terribly important. It's more psychological to me though and makes me believe that I'll get my desired effects more efficiently and quicker if the vapor is thick.

TL;DR I want a good vaping experience with my criteria, with heavy emphasis on the smooth/coolness of the vape, and some emphasis on thickness (bounded up by calling it vapor quality as a whole). I narrowed things down between these two models, and any other suggestions/advice/usage videos to show off the quality would be greatly appreciated.

Damn, that was long. I'm still lifted so please forgive me if my post is disorganized. You can ask for clarification on anything

I think you would probably be happy with either one. But if bags weren't important to me and I was faced with this decision, I'd probably go with the DBV.

Either model extracts vapor well and will provide you with the vapor that you desire. So just pick whatever your gut tells you. You won't go wrong.

I am not sure what you mean when you say theres nothing to gauge the temperature with the dbv. It has a dial. Turn it clockwise, the temp gets hotter, counterclockwise it cools down. Plus the dbv has a cool travel bag and few parts. The eq has many little glass pieces. If you are comparing them strictly as whip vapes, its a no brainer for me.

Out of the 2 I would get a dbv.
But as you want portability and to conserve herb then get a log vape I have a E-nano.
Much like the dbv but more the size of a solo you could put the E-nano in your pocket and take it to a friends house you would need a rucksack for a dbv/EQ.
Dbv and eq have big bowls log vapes like the E-nano have very small bows.
Hand made in the USA by one of us with grate customer service!

This is my nano on a bong it can also be used dry but I prefer to use vapes with a bong

Thank you! I just hate the feeling of going wrong with a vape, especially since I'm a broke college student haha. But would you say that the whip quality of the EQ vs DBV is lesser because it offers the hybrid feature? The issue with me is, I never used a vape before (except the Thermovape but that was just one hit) so I don't know if I like whips or bags.

Ah sorry, by gauging the temperature I meant what temperature it's really on. As for the strict whip, that's what's selling me to DBV. But with the hybrid feature of the EQ and the elbow pack (instead of cyclone pack) is what's making me scratch my head between the two. I love both, I just want to reign one over the other.

Looks pretty cool, I'll research into that more. Thanks for the suggestion!

Generally: I think this one may be the selling factor to me, but which one conserves herbs the most? Sorry I'm difficult, it's just a really hard decision and I wish I could test them both out so I could make an informed decision. Unfortunately, no one I know has either of these vapes except my cousin but he lives on the other side of the country lol (He has the EQ)

I would go with the DBV just due to the ability to hit higher temps I haven't used a EQ but a friends V-tower and found it pretty lackluster in performance.

I do think the suggestion to look into log vapes is a good one. I would think a log would be better for campus life, a lot less obvious a piece with less cleaning and fewer parts.

I would say out of the two, I don't have the DBV, I would go with the EQ with the DDave adapter and SSV wand. extra 50 bucks or less and your in for huge vapor. The log vape will run you about the same price wise so .

I have friends who own the Extreme Q and I own the Da Buddha personally, so I have used both a great deal. In my opinion, the Extreme Q is more of "jack of all trades" (but master of none), whereas the Da Buddha is one of the best whip vapourizers money can buy. It is up to you whether you need something with all of the bells and whistles (bags and numbers) of the Extreme Q, or if you are just looking for an all-out whip whopper. After a week of using Da Buddha, I never worried about temperature control again (and I am one of those who calls the MFLB the "Mother-Fucking Load Burner" :D) so I don't see that really being an issue. Finally, the Extreme is entirely digital, and computerized, whereas the Da Buddha is the opposite: most people will tell you that as a general rule digital = pretty, but analog = durable. In my opinion, analog wins almost every time.

As a peer college student, go for a da Buddha or as other suggested, a log vape. I had the dbv and I LOVED it. However, if I wanna bring it to someone else's house, it's kinda bulky.. I did it though! Sold it once I bought a log vape. Much less bud used with a log vape..

My UD (underdog, log vape) is very easy to bring along and it would never be thought of as paraphanelia. Keep stems separate obviously. UD or ENano are both good choices.

Thanks everyone!

After much MUCH more research and looking into my situation, I went ahead and ordered the Extreme Q. I would like the option of bags and I would be sharing a lot (especially with the whip), so hearing about the EQ having the 360 whip vs the Da Buddha, and of course the bag option, I inched closer to that. I do plan to get Da Buddha way down the road, and add an Arizer Solo to the collection afterwards.

I checked into log vapes and talked it over with my dad and he said "just pull the Arizer off as a humidifer in Colorado if anything". Plus in my specific university, the RAs let you know when inspection happens and you can lock your stuff away and they cannot check draws so lol.

Again, thank you all!

I have a friend who owns one, and thought the same thing until one day, when he was having a new hot water tank installed, and one of the workers, who could not have been more than 22, told him that he had "a really nice vapour lounge going on here"! My reaction was to assume he was probably a member on here: my friend's reaction was to assume that he was a police informant . Then again, it was his basement, not mine...

I just thought this may serve as an anecdotal warning to you: you'd be surprised in this day and age at how many people can recognize a quality vapourizer, especially from a more popular company such as Arizer.

Your reasons for making your choice seem sound: personally, I couldn't care less about bags, but I did notice the one time that I was sharing Da Buddha with a friend that not having a 360 degree glass wand made things just a little on the cumbersome side. Good luck with your new toy! Just be careful flashing that thing around campus...

Also, I would get the Solo first, to have a portable unit, and then look into Da Buddha later on down the road. Again, this is just my personal preference, but I feel like having a top-of-the-line portable will bring you more long term enjoyment than having another top-of-the-line desktop unit: they are just too similar, and if you're not dissatisfied with the whip usage of the Extreme, buying Da Buddha next just seems backwards to me.

I had an EQ for several months but I soon wanted something better. Looking back, It's a good starter vape for the price but it has its drawbacks: lots of parts and having to maintain/clean them often, the tubing and other parts will retain odours which will fill the room as well unless it is stored away and put in sealable containers.

I'm using the Plenty now and it feels and performs like it's meant for royalty.
