Storing bud in plastic or jars

I know jars are superior in most ways, but I always felt plastic was better because you can minimize the amount of air in the bag before u close it. Isn't oxidization the main factor to drying buds out? A bigger factor than the container being plastic of glass.

I keep my buds in ziplocks with a boveda pack in each baggy. And I toss them all in a jar together. Its working as far as I can tell. My bud stays fresh. I have a gram of trainwreck that is 6 months old and its still soft and moist.

well, you can vacuum seal both glass jars and plastic...
guess stuff doesn't stick to glass as much as w/ plastic

Weekly supply goes into snap top plastic containers, long term stuff stays in jars in a cabinet and really long term stuff finds a new home if it going to go past a year. The real key for me is getting the bud dried and cured before it goes into storage.

By the time you put a Boveda pack in a jar, you want to have the humidity a bit above the 62% mark. As you may know, those Bovedas can add humidity but not reduce it. I like tossing in a small $3 hygrometer to keep an eye on humidity.

I like glass mason jars with the valved vacuum seal lids. I also throw in a Boveda and one of those little oxygen scrubber packs. Then store in a cool, dark place. You've just mummified your herb my friend.

To clarify on Boveda humidity packs, they can add OR reduce humidity but you want to have humidity relatively close before you rely on them. So, you don't throw in fresh harvested with a 62% and expect it to handle it. You dry the fresh and cure/burp until you are dialed in.

Im still thinking that oxidization is the bigger threat, and will avoid glass jars due to all the empty space in them from not filling it up completely. That's a ton of air in there with ur herb in that jar, that will be bad for it. Baggies+bovedas, and then inside a jar, is my method. I don't mind static plastic taking some trichomes off compared to oxidization drying my herb out.

Absolutely. Dark and cool. The quality after some weeks/months, compared to any plastic storage, is incomparable better. I would never, ever, use anything made out of plastic for storage again. That is just something for dealers and people who buy from them.

Those plastic particles that get mixed onto the plant and ingested ( if any) get stuck in estrogen glands = Just sayin

if the crusty herb rubs the plastic and scrapes it off you could end up with it in you and static electricity adds a charge to the herb that is not healthy while trichs stick to the plastic etc... most people who vape too save their ABV and eat it themselves or dose a prohibitionists meal with so all the goodies gets used in a positive societal way...
I've yet to come up with a negative for glass except- jar to big and leaky air in jar causing drying but a good sealed jar fixes that... herb thrichs eventually with enough use stick to glass as well from sticky nature but you can solvent extract later etc and reclaim

One can certainly work around empty space in a jar, like put a base layer of glass marbles at the bottom to give the correct volume BUT you can't work around plastic being in contact with your precious bud sucks bigtime.
Glass + Boveda + dark + cool stable temps with properly cured herbs = storage for years
