Storage - Shatter

I store my shatter in one of these little containers I'm not sure what they are made of but they work great. These containers don't let anything stick to them and I can use a cutting tool to cut into the shatter and it doesn't mess up the container.

It's been getting hot in my apartment now that the weather is good and my shatter is always sticky and waxy, its almost like its turning to budder. Is it OK to store shatter in the fridge? or should I put it in freezer?

Also, how long can shatter be stored for? I read a thread where people were talking about the quality degrading and eventually turning into wax.

Keep mine in the fridge year round. Never knew why the part of the fridge door made for butter is so big, but it works great for keeping concentrates chilled.

I don't even use a container. I just fold over my oil slick pad and put it in my lab fridge (no food or food smells).

Oil Slick pad? whats that?

I read that putting it in the fridge or freezer will cause condensation on the shatter and degrade it...any truth?

Never had a problem with condensation on concentrates, but they don't last long around here.

Your container is a non-stick silicon tub, commonly used for concentrates.

Keep your concentrates cool, away from light and air. too much moving into & out of a freezer or fridge MIGHT affect consistency, but if you have hot weather, it might be the best choice.

An interesting topic. Just got off the phone with a dispensary that stocks a lot of shatter, and put the question to them. The answer I got was they store theirs in a fridge, inside tupperware , which minimizes condensation. They said just let the material you're using warm to room temperature first. Also they've stored concentrates for 6 months without loss of potency. I learn something new every day.

Edit: I also asked what would happen if condensation did get on the shatter. He said there might be a little crackling, but it wouldn't change the potency.
