Thanks @TNT_error and @mccringleberry, I went with the spalted maple in the end bc it's so beautiful when it's mixed with grey and I like asking for advice and not taking it. Looking forward to getting acquainted with this bad boy. Ordered from puffitup, amazingly quick service, my order was shipped within 2 hours of me placing it. Can't wait to join the club, first I must come up with a good excuse for my wife explaining why I'm celebrating Christmas for the 4th time since Christmas. Tomorrow is the big day!!!

I'd actually say that maple is the most neutral anyway, in my experience with all three at least

Anyway I just need one more item and I will be set, actually 2 more things- where can I get a set of these Mighty capsules that I'm reading so much about and also what's a good site to get some quality butane. After that I'm all good.....until my custom vapcap stems are completed and then I'm done......

The dosing capsules are available on the storz and bickel website...you can only order 40 unless you just buy a magazine.

I have about 35 left in my bag that I purchased months ago, I could always part with a couple.

As far as butane I go with anything that's triple refined plus. You can also try the mirror test.

I buy my butane at a local head shop. It is quite a bit cheaper than I've been able to find it online, unless buying in bulk, even then it's roughly the same price as locally purchased butane.

Cigar stores and smoke shops are also good places to find butane locally, and they often carry decent torches too. The torches my head shop carries are much larger and more suited for dabbing.

I don't use dosing capsules but I got my Mighty concentrate pads at puffitup.com.

Edit- it's here, it's here, um...in my house at least. Only 7 more hours to go before I can make my way back to tear open that box. I wore my sneakers to work with that in mind, I try to think ahead on delivery days. I have a question regarding spalted maple, my understanding is that spalting is a fungus infection that affects wood, is there any health risk and is more careful handling required with it such as keeping it extra dry? Also, is the wood softer due to the spalting process?

I've used them for bubble hash, rosin, live resin, and shatter. I haven't had a chance to try pressed kief but I think it would be fine. Non-full-melt hash might get messy and gunk them up, I'm not sure.

They do require a little reshaping to fit Junior, using needle nose pliers is an easy way to do that. With the OG Brick they fit perfectly inside the chamber. They work really well, and are a good option for concentrate use on the go.

Some people add them above the chamber, in the metal intake sleeve. This diffuses the heat from the torch, making hot spots less likely and adds some conduction to the mix. I haven't found the need to do this but I do see the appeal.

Finally got some mighty concentrate pads from a friend been using Gorilla Glue bubble hash and some lemon haze shatter, yum! Glad to be back on the brick!

@almost there the liquid pad COULD work with pressed hash, but it will just be like a thick screen (not ideal if not already implied)

the dosing caps will work much better because you can flip and keep going...it essentially acts as a steel cage for whatever you put in it...the dosing capsules would be the worst thing for concentrates (of the full melt kind)

No, I like the stock performance a lot. I haven't had any desire to try the capsules surprisingly. I can definitely see the appeal, but not necessary for me.

I love the dosing caps, and I love my Mighty with them, but with the SBJ, I've tried them and wanted to like them, but didn't work for me.
Maybe I needed to change up my technique, but it wasn't the same.

It's a different style, and I like it as is.

Got my order 3 days ago and jr has kept me busy ever since. Thought it's about time I resurface for some air and share my thoughts. Big thank you's go out to @StickyBricks for making this beautiful beast and Randy at Puffitup for selecting such a gorgeous spalted maple model for me per my request. I can't explain how impress I am, even more shockingly my wife adores it. It is the only vape I'm allowed to keep out bc my wife just wants to stare at it, turning it over and over in her hand. She doesn't vape and isn't dazzled by anything I've purchased so far besides my ti woody.

THE VAPOR OUT OF JR IS SO ABSOLUTELY MIND BLOWING. I have memory lapses from the last 3 days and I kid you not. I love the ritual of disassembling jr for a joyride and then reassembling it back to this amazing looking display piece. The vapor comes in so smooth and cool I am shocked how much I had inhaled each and every time still. Earlier on I was very concerned about how the wood would affect the taste of the vapor, after my first session I prayed that wood scent would never fade. It's a very delicate aroma, smells like fresh cut bamboo to me. I would love to have that smell forever.

Last night after watching all this hydrobrick porn I decided to hook jr up to my fc188 and see what all this water filtration hype is about. Oh my, oh my, let me say I know what I'll be getting next for my collection. The rest of the night was very fuzzy after that, I woke up this morning and saw a scorch mark on my beautiful friend. I'm so devastated at the damage I've done in that moment of abandon. Please someone give me a tip on how I can remove the blackened stain. It's at eye level so each time I use jr I have to look at it and relive my stupid mistake.

Leave the Mark there as a reminder to never lick it with the flame again!

im sure the only way to get rid of it is to sand it off...that being said you'll want to strip the finish off piece of the jr that has the burn and sand the length of the surface with the grain (so the surface remains even)
-Use the finest grit sandpaper you can find to minimize the change to the surface and keep the smooth feel

Then reapply a finish and voila

Ive never done this personally though ( i have sanded the milaana though)
