steel wool safety?

I have some rhodes american #0000 steel wool
Is it just carbon steel? Would it be safe to inhale with a flame going through it?

what about coarser steel wool? what if it's kind of far from the flame? I was trying to vape using a banger as a makeshift thing to diffuse a non-jet lighter flame, but it still combusted... thought i could put steel wool on it to diffuse the heat or something

also wondering if it'd be safe to induction-heat steel wool in a glass tube for use as a heating element


so.. maybe coarse stainless steel wool?..

You are going to need some wire. 32awg works well for what you want to do. Pull it off the spool and crinkle it into a ball.
