SS conc pad vs cotton conc pad?

New to concs and how to best use them with vapes that I own----future may bring an e-nail type .

Experimenting with VapCap and very surprised that it works so well with conc --but I added a cup shaped tiny screen which is not working for accepting the rosin gracefully.

I have some Haze V3 capsule shaped white cotton conc pads I could cut down.
Would a SS conc pad work better in VapCap and other vapes VS these white fiber cotton conc pads??

Can the cotton conc pads be re-used or one and done?

Anyone make a very small SS conc pad?

With vap I use a tiny ball rolled out of the tiniest gauge 316L ecig wire they had at a local shop.
Maybe you can try folding some SS 316 ecig mesh 400-500.

I prefer the vaponic for that purpose conc in mesh pancakes is the shit !

I use a cut down S&B concentrate pad. It works great and can be used for a long time.

@Squiby The maker of the modpod advised against cutting ss pads cause it is creating metal dust/particles. You should rather unweave the wire and roll it again.(sry i cannot recal a more suiting verb atm)

what kind of wire works there?

Im blocking the particles with a cotton filter pad under the ss pad.

But I wish i could make my own pad...
Any Ideas on which product ?

I use a degummed hemp fiber filter in all my tips. The filter is sandwiched between two CCD screens. The tips reserved for concentrates are fitted with a S&B concentrate pad that I've shaped to fit into the herb chamber. One pad creates two Vapcap concentrate pads if you cut it in half. I've never had an issue with loose metal bits but perhaps it's because of my hemp filter. Plus, I roll the cut concentrate pad between my fingers to remove any short bits created from the cut prior to fitting it into the chamber.

The S&B pads aren't expensive, but I'd rather just walk into a store and buy some steel wool or a steel wire pad. Though I imagine it'd have to be pretty coarse, and how would one know if the steel is safe? Could check the local vape shops.

I've tried hemp fiber, seems very wasteful. Herb sandwiches work well, but not with too much extract.

They might be. I just had a look at their site and these pads might be a better fit. It looks like they could be made to fit the Vapcap chamber without making any cuts. They are 3/8 of an inch length and width with about a millimeter of thickness

I've had better luck fully extracting concentrates off of the SS pad than anything else other than flowers. The metal doesn't taste the best after some time, so may need to remove it and hit it with a torch to burn off any residuals.

When I made my ss insert I followed squibys method except I didn't have a tool to cut it down so I managed to smash the whole thing into size with pliers. Not as cheap but if you end up in a position like me without the right tool for the job, it'll work if you got a lil muscle!
