Splinter Dos

Imp/Impcognito eventually went this route. Same for Nomad. Then you can use plain glass tubes cut to length. No lip-stick incidents anymore, stays secure during transport. Allows to take some lateral force / pressure, like when knocked down to the side, without breaking the joint... since there's no joint to begin with...

You'd just need some SS foil lining on the wood around the heater, with a mirror polish to increase reflectivity and have some of the heat bounce back instead of transferring to the wooden shell. You could this way maybe even achieve a smaller overall OD...

What i dont like about the imp and dreamwood (to a lesser extent) is the body can come lose from the base in your pocket. This is because you have to access the coil to replace it. The dreamwood is pretty perfect apart from this. With no replaceable coil an o-ring splinter could be better.

+1 lipstick is very anoying. You forget about it when medicated so keeps happening. No lipstick with an O-ring.

Getting rid of the glass also eliminates the internal glass breaking issue.

@RastaBuddhaTao If you made a no glass, no glue, o-ring splinter i would finally get excited about RBT products again. Probably buy a shed load.

Your heater is still something special.

So as stated in the above post ... the Splinter will follow the Seed architecture (see video in Seed thread) so it will look more like an RDA and employ a standard drip tip and use a pod system.

What problems do you have with 510 vaporizers in general? What are requirements that are not being met? What do you desire the 510 devices to do that they do not do now?

If you have a clean sheet of paper and are not hindered by what is being done today what would you do? Include the mod into the scope of the design. What would make the average cannabis smoker want to try a Splinter Dos?
