AColyte,
I dont even know where to begin. This is a lot like when people ask why we arent doing supercritical co2 extractions. Isomerization is a concept im well aware of, but I have my doubts on its applications to oil.
Without trying to get too technical.....
The whole process of adding either suplhuric or HCl to my oil, and then neutralizing the ph, is one that scares the living shit out of me. I'd guess you would be left with chemical byproducts (Sulphur, hydro-chloric salts, sodium bicarbonate) which I dont personally havev too much of an interest in smoking.
The concept that THC itself is the end-all drug is rather silly. The resin of the plant is made of a large number of chemicals, including cannabinoids, cannibinoid precursors, and terpenes and terpenoids. Generally, people tend to choose something that has terpenes in it, as oppossed to an absolutely pure THC high. From the research iv seen, pure THC is a rather boring, uninteresting high. Supercritical Co2 extraction has been done, but is eschewed by some oilheads who have tried it, as it suppossedly lacks taste, and is pure thc.
Also, when you link somthing/site it, please actually give us a citation. You';re already taking the time to pollute my thread with something only half relevant, please take the time to also link me to what you're posting. The site you posted is 420magazine, which i did some poking around. The site is mostly amatuers, and the dude who posted the whole isomerization thread? Couldnt find much from him, except for a post claiming outdoor bud was more potent than indoor. Something about fully mature trichomes versus unmature ones, failing to take into account the fact that trich maturity is the tool many growers go by.
Finally...do you know what a flux condesnser is? Buddy of mine built one once, for making DMT and shit....they arent simple lab ware.
Regardless...you're more than welcome to try doing this, but I wouldnt suggest it. It was recommended, poorly, by someone who I would imagine has little lab experience. His pictures of bubble hash were mediocre (save the ones he claimed were bubbleman's hash, those were rather melty) and his oil was mostly tane-ridden. And he wrote multiple pages about outdoor vs. indoor, with zero science to back it up.
Proceed at your own risk.
