This picture does a good job at illustrating the three different forms of heat transfer.

Convection in vaporizers involves heat carried through air which is then passed through the material.
Conduction in vaporizers involves heat transfer from a solid heat source to another solid medium which is cooler in temperature.

Yup. Convection occurs when your bud gets vapes by sucking the hot air through your bud. Conduction occurs when your bud is heated by whatever is in contact with it.

Well I just want to buy myself something new for my birthday and I think 8 can get the solo and the nice case for less then I can get the ascent . I have heard that it solo is a hog is that true

I'd say the "hog" factor is all relative.it all depends on what you were using before by comparison. if you were a smoker, then I think you will find any vape at all is not a hog :D

for example. if you use a solo and then try out the PAX, I thought the PAX was a hog. it took 2.5x more greens and didn't get me 2.5x higher imo.

but the solo is a hog compared to a log vape like a purple days.

one to two bowls on the solo and I am good to go. :)

granted, If i was at home I'd use a harder hitting vape and get there even faster. but for portable needs the solo is my fave.

I don't actually own either but had been asking myself this question till I decided to order the Solo. My reason is because as said above its unproven and will likely have future models to come, whereas the solo seems to be pretty solid all round, has been through quite a few models now and can be had for nearly half the price. Now I am just waiting for mine to arrive

Where/how are you going to use it? The Ascent is a pocket vape. The Solo really isn't. Do you want the big home style hits or do you want stealth and convenience? They're really not the same category of portable.

The Solo will probably produce the most satisfying hits. I wouldn't use the term "best vapor" since that implies a better quality of vapor when really the difference is about density and volume. The Solo is also done with its growing pains since it's been out for a long time and all the wrinkles are ironed out- cheaper too.

they also make the PVHES stems you will undoubtedly want also. I prefer the standard straight personally. it's an extra 25 but absolutely worth it.

get yourself the solo179 deal and a stem if I can suggest anything
