My good ol' trust DBV stopped working. The light turns on but the ceramic heating element doesnt get hot. :ugh:

I forgot how much I absolutley despise combusting. I just feel like I cant get the same high combusting. And the taste is so nasty. bleh. Eventually I feel like I just get a headache.

I have not reserached vapes in a while and there are a lot of cool new products out there. I ended up rush ordering an LSV while the DBV gets fixed. (I would have rather gotten a cloud but the are still on pre-order!). I also started to look at glass.

The LSV wont be here until Monday/Tuesday so In the meantime Ive replaced smoking with cheeba chew edibles. Wow are they strong!

Still, nothing compares to vaping high quality flowers!

Moral of the story: Always keep a backup vape handy!!! ;)

This is why I love log vapes. If any other vapes die , you can always depend on them 24/7. Simply,,, Amazing :)

but with logvapes the adapter can still fail(like a loose connection in the plug), so a backup is never a bad thing

Well, most are made of hard woods that can take a pounding. They can easily be dropped or thrown. I like them for being rock solid stable whenever you need them.

and the electrical part is so simple there's not much to break(except the adaptor)

I don't remember any durability tests since the Purple Days days. Don't foget that the CRZ, formerly almost identical in construction to the PD, now has ceramic insulation, which will break, at some level of impact. I don't recall the other log vapes being tested for abuse or severe accidents either, so I wouldn't put too much trust in the hard wood exteriors. Handle with care is always a good motto for products where you invest a good bit of $. ;)

Not that its an official test or anything, but I have an underdog twig that used to live in the glovebox of my car. It hit many a potholes, and survived the racetrack. My buddy dropped his quite a few times and the worst that happened was a cosmetic blemish. Yes they can break like anything else, but IMO they are pretty solid (speaking only of the underdog design, I don't have experience with the others).

I'd say of the household vapes they seem the least likely that I can think of to have parts break from physical damage. The HA being the next, but then again my (obviously defective) power supply did pop in my own hands.. but the rest of that was sturdy.

If a HA 2.1 dies and is out of warranty and you won't get it repaired then dismantle it and keep the heat exchanger as it should fit on top of a soldering iron i believe (e.g. the HA can be salvaged once dead)...

Well I got it on ebay for a great price, but it was new in box so it shouldn't have happened. The HA itself was fine I got some aquarium pump for it instead which actually worked better. Just the power supply popped and smoked on me.

Hummm... I don't recall if there's a fuse inside, on the HA 2.1 P. C. Board, but i guess not!

At least they've put some protection on the heater element itself to prevent any eventual malfunction from igniting fire... Could have HerbalAire missed a spot here?!...

;)

I don't hold it against them. I never even contacted them. I liked the vape but not enough to keep it in the end. Passed it on to a friend.

The Lotus vaporizer should always be an option for anyone looking for a durable non-electric back up. with the water pipe, it is wonderfully old-school way of vaping.
