I feel bad for ex-cig smokers who have fond memories of the cancer sticks. My memories mostly consist of feeling my cardiovascular system go downhill in a big way-heart and lungs both. I knew that if I kept it up it would kill me. Quitting for me was almost 20 yrs. ago and thankfully those 'bad old days' are still fresh in my mind. Stopping the mj smoking came 10 yrs. later and I well remember my lungs thanking me for switching to vapor.
Yup, I was tired of feeling like crap all the time. The sore throat and cough every morning was really the last straw. It still boggles my mind that I can go down the street and spend $8 or whatever to buy something that makes me feel like that and will kill me, but - well, you know.
