I recall overhearing a conversation in an art museum. A fellow was looking at one of those modern pieces that could be described as a huge canvas of mostly one color (although there was much more to it than that).

He said something like "It's simply a bunch of blue. Anybody could do that".

The person with him said "And yet never in a million years could you come up with something so simple"

Simplicity is so misunderstood. It is actually the most desirable trait I can imagine, because it stems from refinement; the ultimate sophistication. This story is a burning reminder of how most folks can only see things at face value. Typical Americana "more is better" outlook on everything.

Beware of those with no creative outlet, as their soul has surely died long ago.
