I really like the Fat Mac a lot, it's fun to use. My first three presses yielded nothing at all, so after the learning curve when I began to understand it and get a decent result, I did my own investigations and tests and I've come up with two main mods, a 3mm piece of mild steel 32mm wide with an ovaled out hole for the plunger bent into a wing shape, this exerts a continuous force on the slug keeping it grounded.
I also have some 1mm thick metal disks after loading I put two of these in then the silicone seal then another disk. This allows me to take advantage of the extra pressure.
And here is the result. 4.43 in .93 out.
I use two torches to get the slug up to temperature faster.
