Sleep and vaping

So I was wondering whether vaping has the same effects as smoking on your sleep. I'm switching to a vape as soon as it's delivered (international) and I've heard that the effects of vaping are a bit different.

When I'm stressed with a lot of deadlines or something I find myself struggling with intermittent insomnia and smoking really helps with that. It basically immediately puts me to bed unless I fight it and try to stay up, I was wondering your thoughts on if vaping does the same thing or not?

Cheers!

Depending on the material, vaping definitely helps me to sleep. Here's a good article on the topic: https://www.leafly.com/news/cannabis-101/cannabis-and-sleep

Depending on material and dose, vaping has a better effect putting me to sleep than smoking. I feel like tobacco has some push up effect on me.

I find that using a strong indica THC strain and a strong indica CBD strain together put me out.

Funny that not one has mentioned temperature yet.
Do you all vape at 230 c all the time or what?
The joy of vaping is being able to tailor your high through temp vaeiation
200c (highest I would go) will put you to sleep
175 will give you an energized head high

Higher temps should be more sleep inducing. Although normally I prefer to keep it around 170-190c for best flavour and least harmful byproducts, sometimes I turn the temp on my Mighty all the way up to 250c to get a deeper stone for bed. When I use a proper sativa like lemon haze it can keep me awake for hours and give me lots of energy, so I would always recommend a pure indica rather than a sativa or hybrid for sleep.

Im not sure why vaping at 200 would be more sedating than 175-180. Higher temps will just evaporate the cannabinoids quicker, so you get a bigger dose per hit. I personally think that's the major difference.

Higher temps over 185C means CBN will vaporize, which is the one mainly associated with sedating effects:

That would be combustion causing that deeper stone, and a malfunctioning (however impressive) Mighty. Max temp on the Mighty is 210c.

Check out a cannabinoid temp chart. It's the actual type of compounds released at higher temps that are sedatives. Some of these compounds are benign, some beneficial, and some not so much.

And a few at the well above 200 C level are "immune potentiators", and "memory potentiators".
I always found that last one amusing. It's like the ripe fruit too high in the tree (overhanging the mountain top) to ever reach to pick.

I mean, to vape off those memory enhancing high temp cannabinoids at 220 C- yeah I'm nit sure how beneficial that practise will be for my short term memory lol.
