Simrell Vaporizer

I received the Extraction Engine on Saturday and did some test runs this weekend. Used my Simrell OG Vortex XL stem to pair with the EE. First, the combo looks beautiful! Ultra high quality design and manufacturing! I may still get the latest stem and wood sleeve to eliminate all the o-rings but I could live with this as is.

The airflow is excellent and better than expected. Significantly better than any of my Dynavap collection. I really like the oval airport design of this stem. The threaded connections are exactly as Austyn has described. A light touch works every time. The cooling is very good. No harshness or hot feeling. The Simrell cooling stand works great and it's obviously designed with this EE in mind. Clicks off in a couple seconds.

There is a learning curve with this vape for me. I use both the Wand and the Flare. I am not detecting a 2nd click but on the 2nd heating cycle I get 2nd click level heating based on ABV. I am getting very efficient extraction and no combusting but I am not getting the huge clouds Austyn gets in the videos? I am open to any suggestions on fine adjustment of these two IH's.

I hate torches but I may try the pen style lighter that Austyn recommends and try again.

I agree with Austyn that this is a refined high end device. For me, the price of the EE was well worth it because I had two XL Simrell stems to pair with it. I am well pleased and just need to learn how to use this device as it was designed. It is a brilliant piece of engineering.

Probably not too helpful since I use the Forge and in cascade mode (1600J/90% power), but I only get the first click on initial heat-up and it takes heat cycle 2 to get the second click. I'm heating what I'm assuming is the hybrid area of the extraction engine. It's the second heat cycle that I get dense vape which mimics the videos. I actually really enjoy the first flavorful cycle.

@WirtDog what settings do you use with the flare? I find 100W 25-30 seconds to be great

Thanks so much for the tip!! I was way down at 65w but will try out 100w today. I did a small test with a torch yesterday. I have a cheap Dynavap torch that works? I got much sharper clicks with the torch and better vapor. Only did one bowl. But, it did seem like Austyn really designed this vape to be used with a torch as with practice I am sure you can focus the heat exactly where you want it based on mode you are seeking. I wonder how close we can get to torch level performance with IH's? I must admit I love this vape!! I will treat it like a fine musical instrument that I need to master.

if you haven't yet, try setting the wand to 375-425 (f) and let it time out. I'm using the dynavap silicone adapter although you may need to increase the temp/timer if you're using a different adapter. i really like this method as you can get a nice smooth and light hit on the lower end or one hit extraction on the higher end with micro adjustments in between.

if you do need a second heatup i find that sitting the device in the cooling stand until it clicks and then heating until the first click finishes whatever is left in the bowl to a nice fully extracted dark brown.

Thanks!! Will try as I have the adapter. I think I may have a weird problem? I am not getting a distinct 2nd click on heat cycle but in cooling stand I hear 2 clicks during cool down. The support screw that secures the heating disks was loose and I tightened it but no difference.

I tried 100w setting and it seems a bit too hot. Combusted and little left in the chamber. Moved down to 90w and that seemed better. I am using the new Molicel batteries and not sure if that can make a difference. I never hear a second click during heat cycle but do hear it on cool down in Simrell stand? Not sure what is causing this?

Thanks!! Found it and did a screenshot. Confirms my initial reaction to using a Dynavap torch for 1 bowl. Despite poor technique my thought was this was designed to work best with a torch. Clicks were sharper and clear distinction between both clicks.

Wish the Forge were not so huge. I guess I am going to have to try to master torches again. I do like the convenience of IH's but sounds like none will obtain the performance from this vape that a torch can deliver.

I didn't get an email (even though I signed up for one) but decided to check just in case they released early and was able to grab one. First manual vape. Hope I'm picked the right one.
Nice choice! It's a great vape and shouldn't be hard to learn. I like that it works with a pocket torch, and that you can tailor the type of hit you're after. It's beautifully made. Hope you love it!
