If people are selling their bubble hash in plastic containers, especially full melt, then IMO that is enough to put me off of that extract artist's product. Why the fuck would you work so hard to isolate the glands only to store them so lazily in a way that is likely to adulterate and render the product unsafe? It shows contempt for the clientèle IMO.
No silicone nor plastic is ever acceptable for use storing full melt bubble hash. Especially if it is 'ice wax' (which in too many cases means 'not quite fully dried bubble hash which looks more buttery/waxy due to the moisture'). Resin with too much water in it is a nightmare in contact with almost, if not all polymers IME.
The polymers that don't visibly leach to begin with (like nitrile/PTFE) often still get torn and impossibly enmeshed in sticky/not quite fully dried hash slabs. This is also why folks have noticed that thicker PTFE is a must in rosin and storage, since the average thinner sheets of PTFE can still tear/rip easily in contact with sticky resin.
@2clicker sorry bro too busy to revisit and explain all of this. However, we should all be aware that silicone can indeed become a home for various molds, even the silicones that are said to be 'mold resistant' (like those commonly used in household kitchen/bathroom applications) can only hold off against the fungal hordes for so long! If material with mold spores comes into contact and the silicone has enough ambient humidity around it or moisture swelled up inside of it, you'll get mold growing on the surface of the silicone over time (silicone is a polymer which swells up with solvents, this is why silicone will stink of iso long after you've rinsed it over and over with hot water!).
IMO, vitreous storage vessels (glassy substances) are a must.
