@mayan I've tried with and without the bubbler @ 9 and both worked well. I find it tastes well still and still the same number of hits per bowl 6-8. I agree I would love to purchase an extra cap and some concentrate cans as well. I'm not to sure on battery life but they are cheap to replace.

@stickstones the whole nug method works well but I find I have to remove the lid and knock nugs off the stir stick at least once during the load. This is even if I break it up a little before hand. The taste is great and it does start getting cloudy after 3-4 hits.

@ShayWhiteGrow thanks for reminding me to turn up the temp. Way better clouds and I'm happy again.

Btw if anyone has a SONG adapter from @Ratchett it fits over the standard mp and milks my hydratube at 9!

So owners, what do you think after using this for awhile, is it worth the $300 price tag?
Imo yes. It has the least amount of draw resistance of any portable I have tried and is a very well thought out vape. It feels like quality and not some cheap China vape. It Vapes flowers and concentrate extremely well.

I do wish it came with a separate top for vaping concentrates as removing/installing the stir stick/screen is kind of a pain and would be a big pain with any sort of manual dexterity issues.

I am a couple weeks of in and having figured out what draw speed and overall usage works best, I am thrilled. The nug method definitely. OK with the cooling rod in too. The bubbler is genius and with it, this may become a primary home rig too. Don't think I'll ever pack away the SSV totally, but with the kids growing up, I definitely won't be leaving it out anymore.

I love this unit.
I like the speed with which it heats up.
The unit came pre-set at 7.5, so that is where I started.
SideKick gave up it's gentle buzz (the signal that you are at temp) in 20 seconds at this setting.
I learned that I liked the flavor better at 5.5, but no matter which setting, the flavor is clean, and quite good.
I made a video as I did my morning session, in front of the computer.
My main objective of the video was to show the sjper fast heat-up times, and the heatup time between settings too.
I started low at 4.5
Also, I wanted to show the satisfactory nature of the vapor at mid-range temperatures.

Oh man scottg402 I didnt even think of that, and the bubbler has definitely got me thinking about water filtration with the SSV...gotta try that this weekend
Well not all of us have the the iron throat like you Vito!

I like my SK with and without the bubbler but I think I like it with just a little bit better. I also like that the bubbler goes on the end of the SSV whip nicely but I'm sure you don't need that either! :)

Hello!
I'm looking for a new vape and this sounds really interesting but I'm a bit worried about the color of the herb?!
Some of you have described a black (burnt?) color.
Any new feedback on this?
thanks

The color is not black, but dark brown like coffee grounds.
Well Vaporized.
Nothing combusted.
The stir tool (built in) keeps the herb from sitting in one position for too long.
Stir between hits to refresh..... in that way the load gets completely cooked.
Cooked to a dark color, the same dark color as from some other portables.
I'm a bit worried about the color
No need to worry.
Dark is good.

Ahhh Vitolo - always providing such reassurance. I was already getting anxious waiting to hear when my placed SK order has come in a stock and is on its way, but now reading/seeing your experience and opinion has once again made me really want to get my hands on a vape ASAP! Is it a pretty wide-spread opinion that the vapor is astonishingly smooth/cool without filtration due to the vortex chamber? That was my biggest reason for placing an order to get in line for a sidekick but now seeing this fast heat up times and confirmation that it isn't "black" or combusting and material, I am getting stoked just typing this out..

I am not trying to rain on anyone's parade here....
BUT:
7th Floor has a very long and strong reputation, while VapeDynamics has very short reputation.... and not all very good.
The sidekick is a dual mode unit too, with oil can etc.
The "other" almost unknown company you mentioned has 2 herbal vaporizers that are no different than the recent run of small portable herbal units from china... pen shaped and questionable.
Users of the existing VapeDynamics units locally have not had much good to say about their units.
Last point.... the Duo is not available to the public yet, and they are only taking "Pre-orders".
The Duo looks sweet..... as many things that are not yet available do.
I am not saying it will not be good.
I am saying that nobody can attest to whether it IS good or not.
If the choice is between tried and true Vs. never been seen in person, I know which I would choose!

I understand your point but 300 dollars for a vape with very mixed reviews like sending it back, very fast burn time of flower..to you that likes it very much seems to me as a similar chance taking as to buy one on pre-order for a hundred less..
But it's not an easy decision!

Hi Guys,

I stumbled across this little vape by accident looking at the 7thfloor site and it looks a beauty of a piece.

Have had a look through the last few pages and it seems to have the thumbs up from all the usual reviewers which is a great start but i had a few questions for you guys.

1. the offical site seems to claim a chamber size of both 0.1 and 0.25, which is it?

2. Since it heats up quickly does it also cool down quickly? I ask this as other portables can have issues if you dont vape the entire chamber each sitting and I like to have a hit or two and stop sometimes.

3. How is the unit itself in terms of containing the smell. im from the UK so stealth is paramount

4. The build looks great and and it being 7th floor is encouraging (SSV drives my days) however the stirrer does give me concern. How long have you guys had it and would you say you have used it enough to say it is robust. Its amazing for a new vape to be tested and come out niggle free, the good one normally ends up being version 3 or something so im sceptical as im sure many will be.

5. I have been using the Indica for a while now and wonder if its time to move one to this one. How would you say they compare if any of you have tried them

6. Can i ruin this with an ISO clean (PAX buttons come to mind)

Sorry for the list, i try and post all questions at once at it helps newcomers and keeps the conversation moving.

Thanks for the help guys.

either... it can fit .25 of a gram

Yes
How is the unit itself in terms of containing the smell
not bad at all
I have been using the Indica for a while now and wonder if its time to move one to this one. How would you say they compare if any of you have tried them
Totally different style, and Indica is pure conduction while this is convection and has componants of conduction
im sceptical as im sure many will be
7th floor has been working on this a VERY long time....
They are not like other sellers that start up fast and then move on to improve with Version 2 and 3 and 4 etc
Can i ruin this with an ISO clean
read the website and watch the "cleaning the SideKick Video on Youtube. Answer is no.

:science:The Sidekick is an Awesome addition to my arsenal. It is true 7th floor quality to the T. It combines the ceramic heating chamber of my Cera plus the OG 7th floor stir tool (1st one I've ever seen that works that well, remember the Wizvape, not so well with that one:doh:) The vapor continues across a Firefly like chrome plate on the top before it enters the vortex cooling rod and removable metal chamber. Then it hit the same chrome like piece at the bottom that channels the vapor through a removable silicone connector up to the channel where you place the OG MP or OG Bubbler. The whole vape is a super solid metal (aluminum?) plus the removable top piece and bottom piece as well. No chinsey plastic here folks. The temps from 1-4 are delicious plus the stirrer is key to getting every last vape. The higher temps bust the clouds out fast. It is a convection roaster if put to high (above 9) but will not combust it. I personally tried it on 11 and that turned it black but still no combust because the stir wheel becomes an art at that temp! I usually start flower on 4 and step up to 8.5 or 9. It's a no messing around vape. You can finish a chamber in about 3 min (with 30 sec of that getting to temp). The batteries remind me of my T1 batteries. Punchy and powerful. I get about 5 bowls before swapping so the life kills the 2 bowls on the T1 batts. The charger even charges a lot of my other vape batteries. It comes with everything you'll need accessory wise also. Is it worth the $300? For me I would pay it without blinking an eye. It's special. It's prally not for everyone, but definitely for most. I want to post pics of ABV on the different temps for you guys but recently lost my job to corporate bs so anyone in CO hiring shoot me a PM! :D I'll work on it next week for yous! Happy Vaping! :science:

With all due respect, this is news to me and not how it was presented.
99% sure that the Sidekick is no more convective in operation than the Boundless CFX which has received endless shit for a similar claim. Perhaps Vitolo is basing this partially off results, which may be deceptively convection-"like" as I have found with the Boundless. Very strong radiant heat can provide free-flowing clouds that conduction vapes are traditionally incapable of producing.
