Salutations Endatheworld,
...always smoked weed mixed with tobacco. I really want to give up the tobacco and am seriously thinking of giving vaping a try again.
Appreciate the irony: i gave up hashish smoking that was mixed with Deutch blond tobacco in 2007 while i had quit the later in 1995. I really didn't wan't to abandon my cannabic habit but only heard of vaporism near the end of 2010, which serious prompted me to evaluate it using an HerbalAire at 1st, then my modded VaporGenie pipe (a favourite of mine); but here's the catch... I've gradually acquired a form of cannabis-related intolerance, probably allergy from being over-exposed in permanence while this may have got much worse when i started
some modding experiments, actually, as i suspect this may have over-sensitized me to the point of being allergic.
So, the result may be that i now need to consider an inverse evolution of sorts, since my only alternative might be to quit vaporism altogether - not to mention i'll never want to get involved with any e-Juice frenzy, etc. Though i'm curious about "SNUS" which i know absolutely nothing about.
By chance i've started playing with blends recently and it feels much more appropriate to me so far, in term of secondary effects i mean! To a point i see potential for a transition to some "SNUS" like scenario where proper cannabic dosage would spare my old body but i'd still enjoy what's the closest habit to smoking/vaping i could have imagined 4 years ago. A warm lighter in the right hand, the pipe on my left in the veranda. It's magic, too bad i can no loger appreciate a full blast without facing discomfort, eventually, e.g. sore eyes that won't stop crying, rafale sneezing that makes me chew strong-tasting gum every 3 minutes (to stop it, weird hey?) - and of course, dry couphs that seriously compromize my serenity.
At the moment that's all history, waiting to re-occur as soon as i'll try to abuse my restricted range of application, so to speak... But that's me! YMWV.
Really i can't like it more than any other electric vaporizer because i've found out a long time ago that cannabic dryness must be avoided at all cost or there are consequences i shall need to assume.
So overall i think i envy your luck if the Arizer Solo provides you portable satisfaction. At least i like their bent Glass Wand which i've used extensively with my venerable HerbalAire - now collecting dust because i'm intolerant to dryness which causes me to cough systematically, also because on top that there's something about weed that irritates me on contact.
So you see i'm almost jealous.
As for a table unit, i'd say get both: have one you can trust then another you find convenient to carry around. Unless you don't plan to vape outside?... Personally i call them my "Plan-A" and "Plan-B", hoping some day i find them both into a single "
Bi-Energy" device!
And more...
Anyway, for a desktop unit i'd say look at balanced combination of heating modes (e.g. convective/radiative/conductive heat, in this order of preference). Convective is praised in our community no doubt but it requires to much pre-heating work for my taste, conductive can be efficient but that's certaily the type that renders people most apprehensive i would think, then there's radiative which is often found as a mix between the two. That's my perception at least.
