I once suffered from the same sadness that ails you. But there is a solution: I learned to bend screens and place them wherever I want in the vape tube.
You may need to buy a smaller whip. Here is how to tune the whip size and screen position:
1.) Choose a whip whose air path will be covered just completely with one layer of shake when you are packing the SMALLEST bowl you will ever want to vape.
2.) I place my screens so far down the tube that on the highest setting on the box vape, the largest bowl that I will ever want to pack gets only just as dark as I will tolerate (not very).
The Vapor Bros Tube is sufficiently narrow on the bulk of its body so that I didn't have to buy another whip once I figured this out. You might get lucky like this, too.

There is a very important relationship between whip size and bowl size.
Get a smaller whip, and by smaller I mean one that has a smaller diameter where the herb is held than the current one you're using.
When using this type of vape (I use Vapor Bros), you want to
1.) Maximize the surface area of the screen that is covered by herb,
2.) Maximize the time that air which is at the appropriate temperature stays over the herb.
You can accomplish 1.) by choosing a whip whose air path will be covered just completely with one layer of shake when you are packing the SMALLEST bowl you will ever want to vape. Such a bowl might not stay in place, so you have two options.
a.) vape holding the box upside down so that hot air has to be pulled downwards into the whip. This prevents the contents from falling out,
b.) (this is what I do) If you can bend stainless steel screens well (and anyone can with practice) you can bend them into an umbrella shape which can be crammed into the whip with a pencil or dowel so that it stays in place -- AT WHATEVER POSITION IN THE TUBE THAT YOU WANT !! --
I use 2 or 3 of these screens inline --- ) herb ) space ) --- in my vapor bros whip BEHIND the normal placement of the screen, that is, further away from the heating element. Keeping the herb between the screens means you can vape at whatever angle you want and never worry about throwing herb all over the place or worse --- burning it on the element. Particles accumulate in the space between the right two screens (and therefore less in the whip and in my lungs), and hash accumulates on the rightmost screen (which can be placed at the front of the tube and drawn through on high heat to... 'clean' it, if you get my drift).
The keyword here is SANDWICH, which is the principle between any 2 screen design, but this is a floating sandwich in the sense that there can be as much or as little space between the screens as you want, allowing you to keep any size bowl in an immobile solid state.
Besides keeping the herb locked down, this allows me to effectively vape 25 mg in my stock VB whip since the herb is at the very center of the airstream. If you put 25 mg in the VB whip when the stock screen is in its original placement, you will lose it all in the indented rim and none of it will touched by the air. This works VERY WELL.
And the last reason, which really is crucial in my opinion. VB switched to a ceramic element, which is slightly higher powered and much more effective. The screen is really too close to the element even for amounts of herb that make sense in this large opening, so it's easy to burn. By placing the screens further away from the element, you allow the air stream to expand and cool, which means that higher settings on the knob produce lower temperatures than with the closer screen but over a LARGER area, which is key. So you can vape fatty bowls at arbitrary valid temperatures in the same tool that allows you to hit 25 mg pinches, but still get TOTAL and even coverage on that phatty, which can be hard. Further away means a DEEPER EFFECTIVE BOWL as well.
Which brings us back to addressing 2.)
I place my screens so far down the tube that on the highest setting on the box vape, the largest bowl that I will ever want to pack gets just as dark as I will tolerate (not very).
Why this complicated mechanism? Because it does EXACTLY what I want, and with a little practice it isn't that annoying anymore. In practice the right 2 screens never move unless the rightmost is getting 'cleaned'. The leftmost is the one that comes on and off each bowl, and you can leave it off when your herb is sticky.
