@Nordicvejp thank u sooo much for this awesome little device. i bought the unit nearly two weeks ago and it arrived in record time. it is great! i love it! i now just have seen your improvements and i like them a lot.. is it possible to upgrade my device with a little ring of metal myself? or maybe could u upgrade the version 1? or is it possible that the nice wood u got from rastabuddhatao will have all of this improvements as well? if so i am thinking about getting the version 2 (i like to name it ;)) with that superb looking new wood:brow::)
as said: nice job brosky!:rockon::love::leaf:

and just as a little review: easy, lovely, pure convection (!), portable, tiny and cushion kicking butane vaporizer at its finest! highly recommended!

Hi @Hagbard
Awesome that you got the roots and you like it.
Well I just get a few pieces of rastabuddhatao, we will see how many are left :)
Of course I have planed to give my customers a option to upgrade. I just don't know right now how to do it because everything I earn right now I have to buy better machines first to improve quality.
Last week I finally got a bandsaw and this already gave me a huge improvement.
I think about a option :)

Yeah @Nordicvejp as I mentioned on IG I am really looking forward to trying one of these out in the nice spalted maple you're getting from RBT. Will be even better to have a more finalized version then too. Great job honing the design when it already seemed to work quite well!

Thank you. Well yes the design is working awesome. Have many plans in the future as salary increase hopefully.

Got a Roots (v1.0) over the weekend.

It is reely teeny! Very cute!

Thank you

A question/suggestion, or two:

~is the silicone gasket around the heating element hi-temp?
Yes it is :)

~ can the heater and the draw tube be positioned/offset so that the draw tube can be stored inside
when in transit? (I plan to go with a shorter glass for the time being, or go natural)
This sound like a nice idea for a v2, maybe?

~be nice to have graphics burned in, or at least a "Roots" design logo?
Yes of course. As i mentioned before it is not easy for me with zero economical backup to start this thing, not easy with family and usual job.
But it will come very soon hopefully. I also have a old 3D printer and I thought about to convert it to a laser burner :)

~ glass-lined insert between heater and mouthpiece?

~higher heat conductive metal for faster rips?

Choice of different woods. YAH?
Yes there might be some options for this. I normally planed the roots because I was tired of the most vaporizers on the market because some of them really get broken very fast. That's why I wanted as few parts on it as possible :)

I do like the idea of holes in the bottom portion around the heating element. It'd be nice to heat it and put that back on to help keep the heat in and make sure you don't touch hot metal. Not sure if it would scorch the wood putting it in though. I wonder hot much it would actually help keeping the heat in.

Hi guys.
Wow thank you for the nice comments.
I played around little bit this week aber job with forming of the glas stems to get some cooler Vapor.
Very easy to do, just made a twist and it work as expected :-) habe to learn a lot to make this better.

@StormyPinkness
You mean a hole like this on the picture? Made two of them on the cap, nor very beautiful because I made them very fast now but it is OK for trying.
It is a great idea just not to burn yourself on the hot metal.
Will test little more

I like the stems too, gives it some more personality. Are you going to put a logo or something on it eventually?

How Soon Is Now?
to be honest i don't like this kind of stem.. why? because cleaning could be a pain in the a. twisted stems always build up some reclaim that cannot be cleaned completely. with the origin stems theres only one wipe after an iso bath and its shiny as new. twisted won't give u the possibility to wipe them through easily... but it just could be me and i am thinking to much "twisted" ;)

That's a good point hagbard. I didn't cleaned the stem yet so I don't no how this will work.

Hi guys

Sorry that I'm not very active the last days. I have much to do and because I live in Sweden always problems to get parts to build more vaporizer. All parts I need are standard in other countries but not here in Sweden.
I really have to get everything from Germany or another country, not very fun I think which make it very hard sometimes.

What you guys think about the stocked maple roots?

Got six pieces of wood from Ryan and love it. Though I had some problems with them, I didn't expect that this is so soft and sanded the first two to much :(
They got two guides instead of metal tube. One of them is usable as a stirring tool

This works very good. :-)

Ordered some nice pieces of wood now to get started and I should get them in 4 weeks.
Will get stocked beech, cherry, apple and walnut to begin with :-)
Next week I get the heating pipes from Germany so I can build more units as well.

That is stunning dude! I love that spalted, so maybe this is the one I buy from you
(how to do so though?)

So you've decided against metal ring going with metal posts instead then? Pretty cool how it makes for a built in stirrer as well, love that. Will there be any more changes, or you think this will be the current design for a while?

Would also love to get one of those twisted stems too of course

Almost there...
@Nordicvejp

Excellent work all around! Nice and simple and easy portable and pocketable!

My one question for you is this:
Would you not be able to add some more mass to the part of the heater that is heated with the flame?
More mass means a longer and stronger hit without reheating so often. Of course the initial heating would be slightly longer.

Cannot wait to see your future vaporizers develop!

EDIT:
Just saw the video on page 2!! Awesome hits!! Sorry i missed that somehow...
No need for more mass or any changes!!
Awesome work man!

Very nice, reminds me of black & white ebony wood.

Nice evolution, @Nordicvejp! Tiny steps, big changes in progress.:tup:

When you have time/energy, perhaps you will be able to offer "round" versions, if not oval ones?

Ovals would be ergonomic, as will round? :D

Yeah you are right. I want to do this with a v2.0 when it's time.

Or NonaRoots?
What you mean?

Yes I decided against the metal ring right now because due to the measurements it make the herb chamber smaller and harder to fill. It also take more time to heat.
The Spaltes are already gone but I will get other nice woods soon again. I have a shop online at www.nordicvejp.com
I think I'm happy right now with the design and will not change anything before v2.0 but this will take some more months. Right now I finally want to start a good production of my vaporizer. Until now there are to many problem so with sourcing the parts here in Sweden even if there are not many special stuff but I'm sure this will Ben sorted out soon.
Have family coming over to Sweden and they bring me a lot of good woods :)

Ah dang, forgot you had a site store and didn't realize they had been listed there already. Oh well probably for the best since I really do not need to buy another vaporizer at all, but I just really love that Adirondack spalted maple of Ryan's! Of course I love variety of wood to so we'll just see how long I last ;)

Very nice job with em, the new owners better post some photos over here!

Seriously my friends. This woodporn stuff drive me crazy.
I worked my whole life as a industrial mechanic with metals but since I started to build my vaporizers I became more and more interested. We heat our house only with wood because we do not have any other option. Today I thought about to take a look on our wood for heating and look what I found. I have many of them what I have seen. Well now it's time to pick all of them and cut them. This will be a cold winter for my family
