ROOR (Herborizer) vaporizer

Honesty I don't think this is worthy of its own post. It's the exact equivalent in a way of the Voodoo vaporizers relative to the Vapir ones - it's all the same product, just rebranded.

Almost 700 for the basic and 850+ for the XL?

What exactly is that buying you as opposed to say, a MW or a VHW? :|

Edit: misinterpreted post. It buys you absolutely nothing, really. That's certainly not the glass piece I'd be hunting for if I were looking to blow 4 or 5 hundred dollars.

Hahaha this guy cranks me up xD
That's the Herborizer tube though, not the custom RooR one.

Out to lunch
I would like to hear if a member gets to try one out and let us get a review
Well, the Herbo is likely to differ a bit, in the vaping experience, depending on what glass piece you're using, but not a lot if the glass is decent and of a similar size. The same could be said of the Cloud, or any vape that can be used with various glass pieces. In the end you're reviewing the glass, not the vape.

Peace,
Since there isnt a lot of information out there on this I thought Id share some knowledge and experience with you Stoners. I am the proud owner of the basic Version of the RooR Vapor with the original bubbler. Im using the upper part of the vaporizer on my 18,8 RooR Bong (42cm RooR Icemaster 15 year anniversary) from time to time to get a more smoke - like experience. I can post some pictures or videos if anyone is interested into that stuff. If you got any questions about it just shoot them at me and Ill try to help :)

@biohacker

Just picked up a second hand unloved Roor Vapor XL unit.
I have the heater section and controller and the main tube section.
On order is the mouthpiece and the herb holder as these were broken by the original owner. They seem to have snapped off the herb holder in the joint and it was stuck like crazy in there!! I ended up taking a diamond grinding bit to it and ground it into two pieces and finally got it out!

The heater has been disassembled and to glass is soaking in ISO as it is stained brown. Heater was removed first!

Main tube is almost clean... Thick brown layer of oil all over the place...

Sucks that Roor only accepts wired transfers... Now I have to go into my bank to send them money to get my parts...

Review and video when I receive all the parts!

EDIT: using the now clean main tube with my Supreme 3!
HOLY COW!!!
It is over a foot high from the water level to the mouthpiece!!
Totally different effect with having to take such huge hits!
And watching the can fill with pure white vapor is a sight to behold!

The parts have arrived but are stuck in the post office...
Will pick them up tomorrow after work!
Perfect timing for a weekend of serious testing!

Since acquiring this vape i have scoured it clean, disassembled the head and cleaned it, cleaned the heater from any spots of corrosion and tested the temp controller.
All is good to go!

I have to say that the Roor tube has quickly become my favorite WT to use!
Has great flavor, minimal diffusion and a long tube to cool the vapor.

I am hoping the Roor heater will milk it up like my Supreme 3 does nightly!

Not too many people seem to have these things so usage vids are few and far between...
Going to be an interesting journey!

Will also post some pics of the set up and vids if i can get it whitewalled!

Night 1:

Not a great experience but pretty good overall!
I was getting intermittent heat and at times no heat...
And heat up times were sooooo long!
There is a stupid connector between the heater and the controller that is VERY cheap!!

This morning i have replaced both connections with high quality gold plated RC connectors!
Very solid connections all soldered together.
It now heats up a LOT faster and is almost at max temp in 5 minutes, last night was around 25 minutes to heat up...

Hits are quite airy with the ROOR tube but the flavor was amazing and the effects were very strong.
Blocking the top hole gives very nice hits and the harder you inhale the denser the vapor!
Seems to be quite the weed hog so i am going to need to look into how to effectively reduce load size without compromising vapor density.

It is a neat design though! Air is swirled around the bowl

More testing tonight!

LOL!! Screw that! Just tried it again and WOW!!!
Heater is so much faster now and hits are way better!
Herb comes out a nice light tan color, very even.
Just finished off last nights last bowl and can feel it already!

From what i have seen this is pretty much based off a Herborizer vape.
Good design and i will be trying the heater section on different WT's to see the differences!

6 year old thread and finally some pictures and videos!

First up some freshly cleaned pics!
The family shot, including:
Heater and stand, main tube, herb holder.

(I had the heater body soaking in 99% ISO for a week and some of the stains would not come off... Previous owner was using it wrong and the amount of built up crud inside the heat injector was insane... It`s 100% better now!)

Close up of control box, it is very small! Goes from 90C to 230C.

image2_zpssof2rokv.jpg

And all attached together, it looks very scientific and scary! I am not too comfortable around all this fragile glass...

AUTHENTIC!!

image5_zpsop1ssbnm.jpg

And a quick 0,08g bowl of my favourite, Girl Scout Cookies Platinum!
Heat was set to medium, so not white walled but good enough to see how quick the vapor forms.
The bowl was a few hits worth and you can see the vapor decreasing with each hit.
Flavor was on point as well as flavor. Hits are slightly airy unless you really pack the bowl full.
I still need to try it out on some other WT`s but for now the science experiment is really taking over.
Effects are much cleaner feeling and not as heavy as my Supreme and it seems to leave my brain alone to function normally. Not the awesome Supreme 3 couch lock effect!

Clearing this thing is almost impossible unless you have a third hand!! Needs a carb on the main body and it would be perfect!

I feel like i am talking to myself in here... Strange how comforting that can be...

Think i have this glass monster vape dialed in finally!
She takes a hefty 0,1+g load to get really good milk but the hits are endless and the flavour never gets bad.
It gets a bit harsh when run at MAX but that is to be expected at 230C.
I run right around 200C and get amazing clouds! It's awesome to have a bong that you can so easily watch the vapor building up before it hits your lungs!

This is quickly vying for first place in my vape lineup!
Vape sig is extremely strong and long lasting!
Ease of use is very easy, about a 5 minute heat up on MAX and a minute or so cool down on the filled bowl and she is good to go for hours!
The screen is extremely fiddly to get just right and then when you stir it wants to flip... going to have to come up with a better idea!

Otherwise this vape hits like a freight train, tastes like heaven and produces massive clouds!
Not bad for around $300. When new this setup cost $1200...crazy money!

Will update on any changes etc...

One thing i am noticing is that the heater body seems to yellow very quickly.
Will watch for any actual build up but for now it is very light.

It's a Herborizer http://www.herborizer.com/en/

However you can still get the Roor kits at many headshops and probably online as well.

Lazy, from what I can recall, the screen actually stuck in the bowl with little glass tabs....does yours not have those? It would be impossible to budge the screen....unless your placement is closer to the heater?

Why is the heater yellowing if it's above the biomass?

I'm so jealous! When are we testing?? LOL

@lazylathe

I would love to join you in enjoying this vape.
However i thought it never ended up for sale on the market.
Where the heck can you get one these days?

Best place would be direct, a lot of headshops are sold out but some still have.
My concern would be to have a very early model like mine and not the latrest version.
Although this one rocks!

Correct! It is a RooR version of the Herborizer.

My new bowl came sans screen... So i had to McGuyver one to fit, most likely need Re-McGuyvering...
I have it balancing on top of the dimples at the moment.
Tried an EQ bowl way at the bottom and it worked okay, lots of tasty vapor but grren bud.

My guess would be back flow pressure after a hit. I wish this tube had a card hole at the top to clear the long tube! That would be a perfect solution!

We can test whenever you are free bro!

What about OGB? The vape itself I can live without but that is a perfect looking tube & you can clearly see the quality.

Lazy, at some point one of us has to get the Herborizer Sphere! I used to own it and loved it! I had the regular, not the XL size.... and i've had my eye on their stock long straight tube as well!

That would be awesome but the top of the bowl is not a standard size. I think it is 20mm plus in size. So not an 18/18 or 18/14... It's also a certain size and has dimples etc... Would be nice to be able to buy cheaper parts for this vape...
Only place for parts and accessories is from RooR itself..

I thought it was 14 or 18mm connecting the vape to the can? Damm that is a unique piece indeed.

It is 18 to the can but way bigger to accept the heater module...
Guess they want you to use the bulk of their system all the time.
Actually it is exactly like the herborizer!

@biohacker Just blew up the images of the RooR and the Herborizer bowls and both have the screen under the dimples! LOL!!
Will see what else i have that will fit tonight.
The non stable screen is my only complaint for now!

Screen has been placed in the "correct" position according to all the pictures i could find.
Securely tucked under the dimples, i used a nice fine screen.

Since the load is now further from the heat source i am finding i need to bump up the temps and inhale for a longer time before it milks up.
I may try and make up a screen that sits securely on top of the dimples as i found it milked better and the ABV came out darker as well.

Just dropped a small load, about 0,06g on top of the screen. It fills about 1/2 the screen with large gaps where i can see into the bong, so not a good idea in most vapes.
The Roor Annihilated it in two monster hits!
This was on setting 9 or 220C.

Going for another 0,04g load on setting 10 or 230C.
Be back soon...
I also give it time to get a good heat soak on, i feel the bottom of the bowl and it should be pretty hot, then i hit it!

First hit was delicious! Not too cloudy but nice light vapor.
Second hit was considerably thinner but still tasted great.
8 hits in total to case the bowl!

This was a blow by blow account...Took about 45 minutes to wriet and test and it makes no sense!
Gonzo Journalism at it's finest!
Hunter S. Thompson would be proud, the ravings of a lunatic.

Roor, over and out....

If that is the case you should be able to use a 18f/18m GonG like mine but get it with a 10mm carb & plug. It will just add 1.5" to the height of the unit :2c: :peace:.
