RezBlock /Cranberry Extract

Assuming its safe, would you vape through anything other than water if it offered some benefit?

I've ordered BCCE, i put 4 drops in my water, i toke some bowls, and i get fucking bubbles like soap, take a look.
Judging from the color of your water it looks like you are using too much extract. If you have just a few bubbles they usually tone down after a hit or two gets put through the liquid. Make sure there are no residual chemicals in your glass from cleaning. A little citric acid added to the mix will extend its freshness and help with bubbles as well.

You probably only need 2 drops in those pieces.

Give your pieces a thorough rinse to get off any cleaning chemicals, as @t-dub said, and then add one drop of extract. Draw through it to mix it up and see if the same thing happens. If not, add a second if you want. You'll probably get more bubbling than usual, but it shouldn't be foamy.

If you can, give your piece a good hot water rinse before every session (fill it, maybe gently shake it, and pour out, a few times), and use fresh water+extract to fill it for use, for the best results.

Thanks t-dub, i'm gonna try that !

In parallel i'm trying to make my own rezblock-like, so i've buyed glycerin, cranberry extract (powder) and distilled (purified) water, but i have some problems, cranberry extracts still powder in the water, that's the problem. :/

Forgive my bad english.

Edit : EverythingsHazy thanks for tips !

is the thickening of the raspberry concentrate in my piece considered mold? At some points it looks as if it's like a plastic skin "film" on the bottom and when you shake it, it comes off in chunks

does the citric acid help with this ("moldy") water or is it just wax residue built up after using it?

Its cranberry extract and yes, when it thickens that is biological. It probably not mold but bacteria. There might be some sediment depending on what brand of extract you use but this goes back into solution easily while biological contamination won't.

Yes. Citric acid is a food preservative and is used in sour candy. Use it to lower the PH of your water and you will be happy.

I don't. Every other or third day depending on my usage. With the citric acid and ionized water in my testing I got the fluid to last a week before the black goo returned.
Do you not notice a difference in the taste of the vapor after each session (getting more like avb), or does it just not bother you too much.

thanks @t-dub for clearing that up.

I completely agree with you, even after the first few hits I can tell the difference. smoking out of the water thats a day old seems to have a different consistency to the smoke (maybe thats just me) compared to when its clean water. the smoke seems to be thicker and not as "potent" as it would be if the water was clean. It might just be in my head lol.

I also use one of the Perk Tech reclaimers and the smokes always passing by the reclaim which doesn't help

If I am doing oil then yes the taste bothers me immediately. If I'm doing flower, it just depends on the number of hits I take before things start tasting stale. The cranberry extract helps keep things tasting fresher.

I have to admit at this point that I am not actually vaping much any more. After I had that bout of walking pneumonia I simply have not been able to vape like I used to. I also am experiencing a major amount of stress in my life right now and getting medicated just makes it worse. I really need some high CBD meds but am not due to see my provider for quite a while. The net result is lately I have not been vaping much at all, maybe one small hit per day when I do decide to vape. Its really sad.

Yea, I agree. Even first few hits change the flavor of the following ones. It just gets progressively worse. I also find that leaving the used water sitting, makes the smell and flavor of the air that passes through it, stronger.

Also, that's why I don't use a reclaimer. Even though it wastes a tiny bit or what could be recovered, it makes too many fresh bowls taste like avb in the process.

If you aren't vaping as much, and use water with CE and Citric Acid, I can understand not changing every session, or even every day if it's too difficult. I wouldn't personally do it, but it makes more sense than if you were vaping a lot. Things can get gross pretty quickly if you are on a roll with the vaping lol.

After a LONG time with this and multiple bottles of NACE (one rezblock) I have come to the conclusion that NACE/rezblock is great for some glasses but not so great for others. For big pieces that are hard to completely soak then rezblock is great. It is even better if the intake to the piece can be touched by the rezblock/water with some back pressure. What I do is blow back just a bit to push the water up right to the tip of the intake to make it a bit wet. It keeps the intake vapor from sticking. It is often easier to just dump and clean a big piece but the rezblock solution has to touch all parts of the glass that vapor is touching or else you get that frosty white haze build up.

For smaller pieces that can be completely submerged I find it more convenient to keep a container filled with a simply green solution to soak the pieces in. Even after 3 solids nights of vaping I will soak it for 12 hours and it comes out perfect. Most hydratubes fit into this category.

Does everyone here recommend the BCCE or will store bought cranberry extract work. Also what is everyones favorite mixture for keeping their glass clean and taste wise as well.

I use Natures Answer CE, but I have used BCCE before - doesn't really matter as long as it's alcohol free cranberry extract.

I don't think you can really find this stuff in the stores. Everyone here has had to order it online from what I remember

You can find it in most health food stores and some healthy-minded grocery stores, but the price will be a bit higher.

I'm getting to the bottom of another bottle of BCCE now and there's dried crud stuck to the inside of the dropper, that doesn't happen with NACE... the BCCE has much more sediment. Also still getting small specs of something that I assume is Silica from the BCCE that is sticking to the inside walls of my bubbler and can be a major pain to get out. I've used many bottles of all the brands... IMO the NACE is the better product, but it does cost a little more.

Thank you for that report! Good to know, I've been using NACE recently - haven't had any problems with it
