reuseable coffee filters

I was thinking about making some qwiso and using one of those reuseable gold coffee filters for dumping the weed from the first wash into. How fast does these filter?I dont wont the alcohol setting with the weed after dumping it like the paper filters.I hear this is a good way to get better yield by using these and letting everything settle to the bottom and than using the coffee filters.Although i am concerned about how long the alcohol sets with the weed.

Will this strain quickly or is it a slow srainer because i dont wont the weed to set in the alcohol long while filtering as i will be using it for the initial stage of straining?Looks like a good substitute for the paper filters though.Mainly looking to get the most yield without the bad stuff.I know freezing before hand is part of it but looking for any extra experience from you all that i can get as far as yield but not sacrificing potientcy and still being able to do a no heat method.

very fast its made this look close at the screen it has a no clog weave thing going on i used these before they are great

If you want some tips i can help you if you wish.making old school honey oil is kinda my thing

now you want to produce a hi yield without the crap? and we not just talking plant matter correct? this not easy

you will need to soak to remove the oils in the plant to get the highest yield so how to remove the crap? well before hand get a rice steamer steam the herb first than soak in hot water for 24 hours in the dark remove and dry now you can soak all you the green stuff is all gone....

If this is bud first make bubble hash first (dry ice ) works nice ((you want these bags to filter the water from the first hot water soak

Oh after its strained dump the herb into whatever and wash and dry the strainer now fill with activated charcoal and filter the your solvent thru the charcoal and repete after it comes out do this few times. safest heat was a hot plate or a double boiler for making candies made out of pyrex kinda kool

and if looking for coffee makers for whatever reason avoid this one you run out of hot water before you get to the 5 cup...

You're going to want to filter twice, first with something coarse to quickly separate most of the herb from the solution and then use regular coffee filters to get the rest since it takes much longer to filter through. I would avoid reusable coffee filters as there is a chance the glue used could be dissolved by the solvent. You're also going to want to use heat during the final purge process (after evaporation) especially with QWISO since the solvent is more toxic than ethanol and you want to make sure you get most of it out.

I will be making some qwiso and mix it for vaping.I will be doing two washes,1 15 sec and 1 20 sec with everything frozen.I will be using seperate pyrex dishes for this with no heat.My question is when its done purging would it be ok to mix these two toget

Replying here since it doesn't need it's own thread. Yes you can combine them, if you did it right there shouldn't be too much difference between the two though the first is likely to be slightly better. Likely not an issue for mixing with ejuice.

I will be doing the qwiso method soon.I have been doing a lot of searching on the method here as well on google.I plan on doing a couple of runs and mixing together for my mod box.I have got the filtering process figured out i thank but still not sure how to go about the purging.I thought i had it figured out to just let everything purge naturally with a fan with no heat but seems their should be heat involved in order to get all alcohol removed.Still not sure this is the case but looking to get a for sure answer.I will be doing all this in my rv with good venting with a generator involved.I plan on letting the majority purge naturally with a fan and than use something i dont know what to do the final purge.I understand i should try and keep the final purge temp to 100 to 110f untill all bubbles has stopped forming.I have never done this so dont even know this for sure.I would like to find something that i can place under the pyrex dish that will hold this temp to fully purge the product.I was thinking maybe a seeding mat or heating pad but not sure if the temp would be adequate to hold these kind of temps.I dont really wont to use a griddle or double boiler,Looking for something that doesnt go over this temp for sure.Any help will be appreciated.

Read through the guide I wrote up here, it should cover most of it.

I have tried all kinds of methods for qwiso but I can never get the alcohol taste completely removed. Since I hate that alcohol so much I have never had qwiso I can say I've enjoyed.

Using a vac helps but even then I noticed a big taste change when switching to ethanol/everclear. End product is a lot less harsh and it usually tastes like the flowers originally smelled like.

To remove the alcohol you boil off with water and use as much as one needs

Yeah, I know. Been through all this many times. I still taste the residual alcohol. The method is simply not for me. Thanks though. :peace:

Is it the same for other stuff like bho? can you taste the butane? or have you tried CO2 extractions?
personally i only use iso for leaf or trim for bud it's Everclear.

Did you remove the wax and the chloroform before using the iso? The wax can hold the taste of everything .but if something else works for you go with that.
