I've been a recreational user of cannabis for a few years now, but I really want to learn how to use it medicinally and to know how to dose it out properly with a medicinal focus.
I have had issues with depression and anxiety (pretty much only anxiety now due to major life changes such as living on my own and getting my family out of my life) due to a really toxic family upbringing. My left knee also got kind of fucked up doing political canvassing last Fall and pushing myself too hard to meet quota for my job then and it flares up whenever I try to run for exercise (which sucks because I enjoyed cross-country running in high school) and circumvent that by biking.
I live in a non-medical state and hate not having credible sources of medical authority who actually know what they are talking about when it comes to the medicinal use of cannabis. I plan on moving with my girlfriend to Seattle in about a year and would find it really helpful to have a legitimate medical dispensary to advise me and give me feedback on using cannabis for medical purposes.
My therapist has a number of clients who use cannabis and she supports me using it medicinally and doesn't have a problem with me using it recreationally while taking 20 mg of Prozac daily as compared to alcohol (as far as I understand, she's pretty well-read on the effects of cannabis and encouraged me to watch the Weed documentary by Dr. Sanjay Gupta). Still, for those who live in medical states, do you find you can get good counsel and medical advice with regards to cannabis in your state? What has your experience been like in that regard?
Appreciate the feedback!
P.S., as it stands, I vaporize about 90% of the time and usually only smoke when I'm out of fresh bud and only have ABV or the unusual happenstance when a friend comes over and wants to smoke a blunt.
[e]: Also, probably TMI, but I can get a little constipated trying to take a dump, but weed helps wonderfully in that regard too!
