Recommendations to replace my broken Davinci

My Davinci has given up, the known problem of not charging any more.

I have a Volcano at home and use the portable vaporizer occasionally when mobile.
Usage is strictly medical, using plant material.

So many vaporizers to choose from, I'd appreciate any recommendations.

If possible I would prefer a exchangeable battery.
I don't want any fancy smart phone connections.
I'd like it to be as simple as possible, since I'm asthmatic I prefer to have a vaporiser which doesn't have a harsh output.

I live in Western Europe, oh yes of course, price does matter.

Hi @dampo and welcome!

If the interchangable bat isn't mandatory,the fury2 has very good vapor quality(hybrid conduction/convection,so smoother than davinci) and is very reasonably priced(100 euro)

With an interchangable bat,its bigger brother the Fierce might be something you like.

I believe the on demand convection devices wouldn't suit you,I find them a bit harsh myself ,so I guess for you,too.

The other good portable I have is the mighty,but I think it's overpriced(since price matters).

Arizer Argo or Air might be very good for you but I haven't tried them yet.

I guess other members will help even more :)

Thank you for your thoughts on this, I'll going check these out.
I also just discovered about the Xvape Fog, not expensive and have a external battery.

Strictly based on thread & youtube reviews, I would say the Fierce. Swappable proprietary battery & mild vapor. Fury 2 doesn't have a swappable batt, but it does have excellent reviews, as does the Argo. And the Fierce & Fury 2 work well with water.

Checkout 420vapezone's recent youtube video for the Fierce (Best Dry Herb Vapes) & his Fury 2 vid. And Troy also has a review of the 9 Best Budget Vapes. And Sneakypete Vaporizers vids for all 3.

The fierce is not available in my region.
I looked at the Arizer Argo, very nice but a bit pricey.
The Air 1 is not available here.

also looked at Sneakypetes V5 Nano review.
as of now I am comparing
Xmax starry 3.0 @ €99,
Xvape fog @ €89,
V5 nano @ €109

after a lot of reading and watching reviews my choice was the Xvape fog, only €65 at Amazon.de
but, I then did some reading on the xmax fog forum here and found out about this issue of some silica dust being present in the airpath.
Apparently the company has made some alterations, but since I wouldn't know how to recognise this improved version I am going to look for an alternative.
Starting again, I maybe have to raise my budget....

I would like to ask the experts about their perplexities about devices made of plastic.
Do you say that plastic in contact with high temperatures can release toxic substances?
Are these devices not also certified from the "medical" point of view?​

This one has recently come out, and looks very good, especially for the price. I dont think I have heard it mentioned here yet, no thread anyway.

I know it isnt in your region, but Im sure the shipping isnt too much. And if this was going to turn out to be a perfectly suitable replacement for the very low price a little extra on shipping may still give you as good or better value then you might get with another choice.

It's all about finding the most suitable option for you. In which case, best not to unnecessarily restrict yourself to locally available vapes for the sake of saving a little on shipping, because that may restrict your choices and you would be less likely to make the best decision I think.

You can also check vaposhop there's a very good chance they already have the Sapphire in stock but I would certainly expect them to do so very shortly if not.

Certified? I've never heard that. Who would you say certifies vapes? I've never heard of it, so now I'm wondering.

I would think that you would want to use a food grade plastic because, sure, with heat plastic will outgas, but probably can be bypassed by lining the airpath with glass, ss, titanium. I'm sure there must be 1 or 2 vapes that are certified as medical devices. Isn't the Volcano one of them? But no, we FCers trust that the reputable manufactures are using medical or food grade plastics & silicone when they say they are.

Yes I believe so. The other that springs to mind is the Minvap? Im sure I have heard of alledgedly legitimate claims in that direction.

However it is a bit of a farse, having just two devices in the whole world which have officially been certified as medical devices and the irony is I personally am extremely reactive to aluminium heaters in vapes and would not be able to use the volcano without a really severe allergic reaction which is way more severe than any of my usual intolerance reactions to other vaporizers.

I'm pretty certain there are many other models out there that would meet this criteria but obviously there will not be much investment in this direction for some time I don't expect.

Only certified vapes are said to be Mighty, Volcano, and maybe minivap. Note that Crafty is quite similar to Mighty but the certification process has a cost and S&B for some reason chose not to get it certified. It's just a Mighty with a smaller CU and a single battery. Does it mean it's less medical than a Mighty to you?
S&B is a thing, and Healthy Rips is another. Not the same flavor. But F2 Is so convenient to use! I have many vapes but my main ones are Volcano and F2 (last session of the day is a Supreme v3 dual bowl).
I'd say XVape Fog is inferior to Fury2. It has removable battery but to do so, has many more components, including at least a magnet. It took just one drop to a friend who bought it to break the mouthpiece.
I dropped my Fury 2 dozens of times. And Fog is quite restricted. F2 is free flow.

An update:
looking at all the recommendations made to me in this thread, and doing some more reading and watching, my thinking has somewhat evolved.
I had just about decided on the Argo, but then I started reading this thread about asthma and vaping, especially the comments by Squiby.

So now I'm looking at the Dynavap M, I'm completely ignorant about these instruments so I've got some reading to do, after having done this I think I'll respond to the above-mentioned thread to get some more advice.

Dynavap will work but a little clumsy with my arthritis. I am also asthmatic and recently bought a Solo1 and then an Air 1 and these have been wonderful. I think 30%off right now?

Just another thought.

I too am beginning to look around to find a worthy friend of my good Swift Pro. I was looking for a similar, pure convection appliance, this time with replaceable batteries. So far I've only tried the swift pro so I have no experience to compare it with others and say what's best. I took a look at the flowermate's new entry, UNO , it seems interesting, I wait to read reviews.
Reading this forum I think I understand that the Ghost MV1 is considered one of the best, if not the best! Am I wrong?
