It's pay day and my lungs hurt. So I'm finally deciding to try the cancer free route.

After some research, I realized what I need/want from my first :D vape:

NEED-
`convection
`temp control that's reliable
`usable with dry/loose leaf
`material quality- glass, ceramic, mesh (does anybody have advice on what works cleanest for loose leaf?)

WANT-
`vapors only produced when taking a hit (is that the same thing as convection?) I didn't pass 6th grade science...
`affordable? but durable!
`USB/cigarette charger (for car)...if it is possible to get one that won't wear/tear radically fast
`usable with essential oil
`good to share with a few people AKA not super small

Is there a product out there??? Sometimes it's hard to tell if a device is convection vs. conduction

THANKS A LOT!!!

If you're pulling heated air through a bowl/heating chamber, then consider it convection. For conduction, the metal the herb is sitting on/in, provides the heat.

glass, ceramic, mesh
Glass is usually the air path material. Ceramic is usually the heating element (very reliable/long lasting). Not sure what you mean by mesh or the context for all three.

vapors only produced when taking a hit
You mostly get that feature where the bowl is mated to the heater tube and removed after the hit (SSV/DBV and other whip vapes are most common).

You'll need a 12V design for the car, unless you also use a voltage converter.

usable with essential oil
You mean for aromatherapy right, not concentrates? For that you'll likely need an attachment, like this - http://silversurfervap.com/accessories/wax-oils-and-herbs/new-glass-oil-diffuser.html

You're really pressing it now, as far as a do everything vape. A whip vape like the 7th Floor models (SSV/DBV) would fit your needs, and they're very reliable, but not 12V. Easy to use for friends though (although there is glass to break).

If easy car use is really important (just plug in the supplied car adapter) I'd recommend the 12V Vapolution 2.0. It won't give you hits as big as the 7th Floor vapes, but it's an all glass air path (with the AIW bowl) and also has an optional battery pack for portable use. Check the 1st post in the thread and see if you can still get the vape plus AIW bowl for $100 from Vapolution.com. Best vape value for the $ IMO.

I'm with max...The VAP2 meets almost all your needs, is cheap as shit and should be your first vape anyhow.

I vote Da Buddha. Small enough to bring in car (outlet adapter needed), easy to use with friends, they have the new essential oil setup for dabbin, great with dry leaf and bubble hash, all around awesome vape.

You could get a Da Buddha + oil setup for under 220 if you do it right.

Why not go for an Arizer Solo? It's affordable, reliable, the taste is awesome, it's a piece of cake for anyone to operate and the sessions are hassle free, it heats up pretty fast, it can be used as a home vape, in the car, on the go, you name it, it is full convection if you don't let the stem in the heating chamber without inhaling for a long time and it pretty much covers everything you mentioned and more... What else you need? :smug:

Wouldn't be able to use essential oils but that's only on the want list. Arizer solo would be great for everything on the need list.

I can see clearly now the smoke is gone...
The only thing on your list that the LSV does not excel at is the car charger issue. It is convection, glass on glass and made to hit thru water pieces. It has a large bowl so it is a great party vape, yet can be used just as well with a small amount. It can be had delivery included from the LSV site for 189$
