Rebuildable Dry Herb Atomizers?

Has anyone had success with these 510 connection atomizers? I have a ton of mods laying around from my ecig vaping days going to waste (Golden Greek just sitting here doing nothing, for those in the know).

Anyway I just bought these:

http://www.discountvapers.com/phoenix-rebuildable-atomizer-clone/

http://www.discountvapers.com/siren-rebuildable-atomizer/

I'm going to need screens I'm sure (as well as wick and wire which I have).

I know this might seem like an Atmos Raw, but it won't be an epipe because it won't have direct coil contact.

Any thoughts? Thanks guys!

Thanks, I've been reading that (over and over)it started as something sorta different.

That ceramic and screen part might be tricky. I'm always up to try some cool tho.

Screens shouldn't be too hard to source, and you can buy those ceramic screwdrivers at most home hardware stores.

I asked Pipes about some of those other attys.

I'm sure I'll be able to use my Silver Bullet or GG. I don't want to fry any circuitry PCB boards. I'm hoping the 32 nichrome will do it... but there is always frustration on first attempts.

I want your GG!!!! lol Need that and a Caravela to round out the collection. Then maybe a Paps, Gus, and everything new that comes out....

Shit I am SO glad I found this forum today, and really glad I found these threads as I am all ABOUT rebuildables :) Have you guys tried using Twisted A1 Kanthal at 32G? You need more wraps because twisting the wire drops the coils resistance. But it covers more surface area, and handles hotspots and shorts better. Plus it just SPEWS vapor. But you guys are totally right about using mods without circuitry for this. Mechanical is even better I'd say.

So we are looking at tankless bulli style RBA's for the most viable option right now?

I have recently just been dabbing oil on my iHybrid mod, but that is genesis style atomizers so it uses a stainless steel mesh wick rather than the silica wick pictured above. I also have a few ERA (easy rebuildable atomizers) we could fart around with to try this out. It is another silica wick RBA but slightly higher quality.

Ecigs are my hobby but I medicate daily, so now this is becoming my new passion!

One thing though, I was looking at this setup and those coils get hot, I think the bud would easily combust. Has anyone tried placing a metal screen inside the top cap over the buds to keep it aloft from the coil? I know this must have been thought of before but I am new to these forums and haven't been able to read to where everybody is at on these projects yet

Oh and I have a few extra RBA's packed away somewhere, if I can find the spares I'll send them out to anyone who wants to help perfect this project :)

Have you guys tried the Vision Eternity RBA? I won one in a contest and it has 3 modes, one being dripping which is the type of RBAs these you guys are trying are like. I haven't used it yet but I did wrap a coil and got it all set up. Opening the box now to see if it will work for this. I'll post some pics if I get good results

Hey guys, just noticed this thread, I just updated the Bulli thread tonight with new finding which change a few techniques. Including using AWG 26 Kanthal and how it runs much cooler with heavier clouds.
I'm glad you guys are keeping up with it. Fun stuff for sure. It's been great of members not cluttering it up and I always welcome side questions. Kind of a double edged sword there.
Anyway, have been getting great results with the Bulli and have also learned to appreciate the quality of the unit. I too have some of those China knock offs but think they best be spared till 100% sure of working recipe with the coil. They would likely only survive one rebuild. Also, who knows for sure what might be in that metal. Been keeping an eye open for those units as they are getting popular quickly. So far the bowl chamber usually is the draw back.
I have also found a more local supplier of the Bulli here at Vaporciqzz
Going back to add this to the Bulli thread as I forgot.....
Any ideas on a 18650 strait power handle with a switch that can be made to stay on?

Hey man! I just noticed your other thread and DAYUM good info there.

Hmm straight up 18650 mod. I assume you mean a regualr battery mod not VV or VW right? Not sure what you mean by making the switch stay on but if you want a an unregulated 18650 mod I would say Caravela for the high-end side and for the cheaper side maybe a SMoktek telescopic mod?

If you expand on what you mean by the switch I may be able to help :)

Thanks. Yes a strait no regulation (electronics), turn on mod. A good mod would be a 18650 lazer pen for the handle. Just need to add the connector on the end and an indicator LED. The thing is that now that I have a coil that is functional in a wider voltage range 3.3 - 3.7 volt type thing and still get good results the variable becomes more of a PITA. And not needed as well as the kitchen will get pretty hot for the electronics.

Also looked at epipes but holy crap they are expensive and not much for 18650s.
Would still like to have something that the Bulli would rest along side the battery with just the drip tip showing. Like the Gripper MadVapes sells. Best for size.

More ideas the better.

Hmm sounds like what you need is a mod with an inset tank well. Epipes are pretty cool, I got one from a classified ad for $75 a while back but it only takes an 18350, they do make an 18500 model tho. Its made by Jazz ePipes which is a little cheaper than ePipe Mods.

Anyway, for something with an inset well I'm coming up at a loss for some reason. I know that RedSkyMods makes an inset VV boxmod, but they used to have a regular 18650 boxmod with an inset well called the Mark-10 that you may still be able to find in classified ads. Another 18650 mod with an inset well is the Phidias Inset mod. Clean Vapes has a cool inset mod but its way overpriced at 200 bucks. This guy at Sweet Vapes makes a rocking Grip mod. Scroll down for the non-VV inset models.

There are just too many to choose from or to remember. Its be cheapest to make your own though. Plus finding a plastic casing should be a breeze that you could fabricate in the right size.

Sorry OP for derailing a bit there

This is not a derail... This is exactly what I wanted!!!

So with my knockoff and no screen... I'm getting combustion @ 3.7 on my golden Greek; I'm willing to part with it if you have something you'd like to trade and you're serious). I need to find a screen that will actually stay put in there and not slink down and short my kanthar. That's happened a few times with my screen attempts. My Vape or Smoke screens aren't big enough either.

I'll keep you posted...

All I have to trade right now is a full iHybrid Standard Kit, and a v1 Red Sky Mods Destroyer (the Destroyer listed on site is a v2)

The iHybrid is actually up for trade for a PS3 + controllers + games right now but if it doesn't go through I'll let ya know :) The guy seems pretty serious but he'll let me know later today.

Gonna try out my RBA today :) I drilled out the stock screen area and am placing a new screen in after work. I'll let you know how it goes. When you were testing this on your GG and got combustion, was the herb coming in direct contact with your wire? And how many wraps/what gauge did you use? I'm pretty sure that even low-amp coils will ignite the herb, unless its real low-temp. Pretty sure anything below a 2ohm coil will immediately combust unless there is a screen

Direct contact, about 6 to 7 wraps of 32 gauge and no screen yet. I need more wraps, going to try 4 more to see if that brings the heat down and avoids combustion. I might need to go ceramic in those wraps to combustion as well.

Well definitely the more wraps the less heat you'll get outta the coil. You could also try and up your gauge wire you're using. 6/7 wrap of 34g or higher would be significantly cooler than the 32 you're using :)

reserecting old thread new here but I use a dark horse rda quad coil build the threaded piece that locks in airflow control fits a screen perfect between the airflow control and top cap and put another screen bent into the mouthpiece. put medicals inside of mouthpiece screw on and go to town. non combustable and works well so far
