Another generous member had one he wasn't using and offered to send it to me so I could try it. I remember when you first released them there was an useage option without the tophat, which was what I had been looking for ever since beta testing Zion, something more like the Solo stems with fixed glass screen and no need for mesh, though the bowl here is huge

The tophats didn't interest me as much bc of having the separate parts, but I guess they are pretty necessary after all bc they offer small holes, screen closer to the heater, and narrower as well? But then the tophat doesn't need the internal glass screen in the stem does it? I can lock into one of the stems without internal screen right? That seems like it's be better with less glass mass to rob heat perhaps? I know I still need to try it...

I've only gotten to try the GonG a couple times, couldn't get any mesh basket screen in there to get load closer to heater as I like, so that has made thing trickier. I had tried a whole nug, but it didn't work too well bc it needed to be broken up to further extract more than a taste, and then it was bit city in my mouth lol

Haha yeah, can I see what size/shape you are using maybe? I can't seem to avoid a hot spot and always have to break it down to continue eventually. Even a small nug doesn't seem like it'd work too well bc of the large screen holes? Or do you only use the top hats really? They also dont seem thaaat small, but what do I know lol

Abandoning the grinder altogether and using a device like the Tubo Evic yields the extraction we like and really makes this glassware shine. Have you tried the glass with your Tubo Evic without grinding?

I have not. If I can find the tophats again I wouldn't mind giving it a shot.

I do unground nugs fairly often with the tubo. Sometimes I'll crumble afterward for some huge sense hits, but I've found that the tubo can extract super thorough without needing any crumbling

Have not tried this. Might be able to get that to work with the Tubo, it's just such a large space to fill. Trying to use less instead of more most days. Feel free to provide some feedback if you get around to doing that sooner than us!

With the top hats I don't need to stir or crumble if I'm doing hand tearing. The screened stems have much bigger bowls and I'm pretty sure I always stir in those. I don't do my usual routine of hand crumbling since some of it will come through the screen, but with the tubo I don't really need to.

That is a typo (thank you for finding it). It should be 18mmMale:Taper:14mmMale

It will work with the TopHat. There isn't a screen in there between the joints. Just an indentation to seat the TopHat.

Sorry for the double post. Our glass is restocked. New 45˚ medium+ in screened and slim variants. Some plain joints available in 67mm & 100mm length, not sure if the new RBT Stainless Steel TopHat will work with it, but should know shortly. New GonGs available too, 19mm:Constriction:19mm and 19mm:Constriction:14mm, again, new screens from RBT will be tested on these too. Otherwise for screens with our plain stems, its on you.

Yeah so it's available with a GonG tip for water use, along with a regular glass screen, and a regular without glass screen? Does a tophat come with any? I may want the plain 45 and hopefully I can find screens to fit, but would be nice to try a tophat finally (in my GonG too!)

We made two of the 45˚ minus screen or taper. One is up for sale and I don't see making any more in the near future as the RBT SS Tophats didn't fit (fell right out) the joint. Ah I didn't realize tapered meant the notch for the tophat, though the plain glass stems always had that. Alright so what about a standard RBT screen then? Is the inner diameter too wide for one of those too? I have plenty in varying sizes so maybe I can find one that fits... Would love to have a bent stem with a screen like this as I do with my RBT glass stems... Maybe I'll just try a tophat with my glass screened 420edc GonG too... Gonna PM you

The slim stems will not hold an RBT screen. See the post above from me discussing the plain stems, it is still the same joint, so I am yet to find a compatible stainless steel screen. These stems (slim and screened) are designed to be used with the 420EDC TopHat Bullet SubChamber which is why we decided on such a large inner diameter joint.

I have used both very coarsest ground (the lift grinders large grind disc for those familiar) and unground herb, but my results were spotty and while i believe the herb cooked evenly I didn't have many sessions where I didn't get bits in my mouth. This includes with herb stored in a jar with boveda packs. It may have been that I just got the wrong combo of bullets that do not fit or that the one that did had some variance with the screen size, I'm not sure. But it seems like most everyone that owns them enjoys them so I think it could have just been an unlucky combo for me.

I also want to put out to everyone that @cannabis.pro was very responsive to the issue when I first mentioned via pm and immediately offered to replace or refund, but I did not have follow-through. Top-notch customer service and I plan to purchase from in the future!
