'Raw' ABV and Peanut Butter

Hello friends, this is my first post but I've been lurking for a while.

I mixed some raw ABV and peanut butter, put them on graham crackers, and ate it on an empty stomach with a pretty awesome effect.

Sorry if it's old news (I didn't hit the search button).

This is what I did:

I saved about 5 or 6 grams of ABV that I had vaped only using my MFLB. Then I mixed it with a pound (16oz container) of Organic, non-Hydroginated Creamy Peanut Butter (It has to be creamy or else you are not eating peanut butter correctly). Anyways, the fat content on this peanut butter was 25% of daily intake of fat; it was the highest I could find.

I poured the ABV into the container and mixed it really well and let it sit in my fridge for the night. In the morning I ate a breakfast of my magic peanut butter and graham crackers, and within about 50 minutes I got some slight dissociative effects and within an hour and a half I was pretty baked. I didn't vape anything that day because I was good for about 6 hours.

I believe other people have done this with some varying results.

Anways, so I consumed about 30% of my jar for that breakfast so I don't have an exact ratio measurement of ABV to Peanut Butter that it takes to get stoned, but I'm just pretty surprised that it actually worked.

So that was my first post.

this should work, but for dosing purposes it may be easier to mix the pb and avb in a bowl rather than the way you did. (just a suggestion)

also, ive tried organic vs non organic pb and noticed no difference between the two for those with only skippy or jif at home.

The reason people would recommend organic PB is it tends to have fat as a higher % of weight than skippy/jiff.

However, if you do the math, the difference is very negligible and skippy peanutbutter still has a total fat content higher than nutella, and that works fine.

Same reason you'd use oil instead of butter (Oil is 100% fat by weight, butter is about ~80-85% fat)

Funny thing is, I've had people on other forums try to tell me that it wouldn't work, even after I had been doing it for months! Anyway, it's great to see somebody back me up on the fact, no baking is necessary.

if you've already vaped the weed, the decarb process has already happened. this is why you can eat it "raw" with much better effects than weed which has not been vaped. im no expert on edibles, but from what i know about the subject, the fat content of the peanut butter doesnt matter at all IN THIS SITUATION. if you were going to cook the weed into the peanut butter then the higher fat content would allow for more of the cannabinoids to be absorbed, but since you are just mixing and spreading, the only determining factor is how much abv you get in the peanut butter youre eating.

ive had great results with this when i couldnt find any buds for a week, but i just made a peanut butter sandwich and put the ABV straight in it. that way you can weigh your dose. 2 to 2.5 grams is a pretty effective range for me, and i usually vape 2 or 3 very large bowls per day. you may want to put that on two sandwiches, or use a lot of peanut butter, because it can make for a pretty gritty sandwich. also, i dono why you like creamy peanut butter, everyone knows extra crunchy peanut butter is best for eating gross drugs, it hides the texture better.

also, just a heads up, it was usually around the 3rd hour after ingestion that i would start to feel so high that it was hard to do anything. slow onset, dont eat another too soon. 1 and 2 hours after both kind of felt like i was at the peak and i was not. at all.

I mix my abv straight into the jiffy jar and just start eating it on crackers or pb&j's. No cooking or sitting up needed with abv as already stated.

Yes actually it was your post that got me interested in this and from the discussion and from some other posts it seemed that there was some confusion about you not actually heating the ABV. So I tried it for myself and posted it here so that more people would be able to find easier information on it!

But mainly I got the idea from your post, Sundaddy. So thanks!

Also, before mixing it straight with peanut butter, I used to simply eat the ABV raw, and that itself had an effect. The Peanut Butter is mainly for masking the taste. I'd also guess just as well that nutella would work. But it's good to know that fat content doesn't seem to serve any real purpose in this case, which is the main reason I chose peanut butter over the nutella.

Another good way is to pulverize it and get some cheap supplements that come in capsule form (I found cinnamon capsules in Sam's club in the vitamin aisle) Empty one, and pack it (you'd be surprised how much you can pack in) full of the ground ABV.

Doesn't think hurt your stomach guys? I did the milkshake and it turned my stomach upside pretty good. It was affective, but the abv just doesn't agree with me so I just throw it out now. I don't think i like the abv buzz much anyway.

ABV edibles definitely tend to make me more nauseous than a normal edible. One way to make it a little better, is to cook the ABV in a water/butter(or oil) mixture, which allows you to separate some of the funky stuff out of the product to make a bit purer butter/oil for edibles.

But of course, mixing raw ABV is so easy and certainly does work.

I just don't like the buzz from abv butter either... i just threw out a jar of green butter/coconut oil because i didn't like the smell/taste and even cooked into things I just find the buzz a little "dirty" or "unbalanced" or something and just don't enjoy it. Plus I find that it completely raises tolerance through the roof. I think i'll just extract as much as possible, and toss out.

Me too, just threw out my second batch of coconut oil. :lol: The ABV high is just so gross and nauseating, none of my friends have ever enjoyed it either. I agree with you exactly, the buzz is so not worth it, i'd rather vape than have that headache of a high ruining my tolerance.

I like to vape a little, and then have a little abv edible combined. Straight ABV is definitely not as pleasant unless the ABV has been only very lightly vaporized.

I guess if you vape lightly it's similar to decarbing in the oven, thats a pretty effecient strategy of yours. But I usually like to get everything out of my herb right away for the full effect... :smug:

Yeah, man. The high seems to be very heavy and sedative to me if I ingest a large dose of darker abv. I purposely leave a little bit of goodness in my herb nowadays, just so I can get my rocks off on a single brownie (~1g) supplemented with normal vaping. Works great for me.

I agree, I vape with edibles in mind, so I leave a little love in there. I would not be inclined to make edibles from ABV that was a dark brown color.

FWIW I tried this out of curiosity to compare it to the microwave method. In my experiment I used 1.8gr abv browned to a golden brown color, more or less my usual standard. Mixed in with some natural pb and ate it on triscuits. The high was, eh. I wasn't too terribly impressed compared to the effects of using the microwave to heat the mix. Yes, I did feel a little something, but definitely did not get "my abv's worth" out of it. While I will say PB isn't my preferred edible method anymore, I definitely think it is worth the few minutes to throw it in the microwave if you're going to do this, you'll be much more impressed.

mine is a darkish brown, would this be even worth trying?
As sundaddy said dark ABV has less active Ingredients thus you would need a lot more, and ingesting ABV has never done my stomach a favor.

I like extracting it in oil, and leave the ABV behind.

I don't understand how some of you are saying you just take your ABV and put it in capsules and eat it. I've tried capsules (which just compresses the stuff so your stomach absorbs very little). Nothing. I tried mixing it with peanut butter and eating it on bread. Nothing, except a little stomachache. This time I followed a really good method I found on a forum:

Here is what I found:
If you only have 3 grams, you can still make some kickin' pbj's. I've done this like 3 times and never been disappointed. There are some good threads about it around, but incase your not down for a good search, here's how it's done ;
-First, grind your abv to a powder (if you dont have access to any sort of grinder, I have found that putting your abv in between two pieces of paper and simply applying pressure crushes it up and can def. be substituted for a grinder)
Next, get a small dish and about 2 tablespoons of peanut butter (be careful, don't use too much or you'll end up with enough pb to make like 5 sandwiches) and dump some of your abv on top.
Mix that around very well and add the rest of your abv, at this stage I usually put some butter or a few drops of cooking oil into the mixture just to make sure it's good and oily for the thc.
Throw your mixture into the microwave for 4 or more cycles of 30-seconds at a time, stirring each time in between (this isn't required, but I like to check on it every 30 seconds as I usually use kind of a small dish and this mixture bubbles up when it gets hot and I could easily see someone putting it in for 2 mins straight in too small of a dish and ending up with a microwave full of bubbly-cannabis-laced peanut butter.
When your satisfied with how long you've microwaved it, put your mixture into the freezer until it has solidified enough to spread.
Now just make your pb+j, I usually end up with enough pb for 2 sandwiches and contrary to popular belief, if you eat them jelly-side down, they really arent all that bad. enjoy.

I did all of this. Now I am letting the peanut butter sit in my crockpot for 30 - 60 minutes between 180 - 220 degrees to help the THC bind to the fat in the peanut butter. We'll see what happens. I'll let you know if this helps. So far, it appears eating raw AVB will give you only the slightest of effects. Mostly nausea.

Well, it definitely worked! And no nausea. I simply did the recipe above with 6 - 7 grams. I did five cycles in the microwave. The first two at full power, then 90%, then 80%, then 70% power, stirring in between. You will see bubbles. You want to let it sit as long as possible at that temperature. Don't put it right in the freezer. I also put the little jar in my crock pot with water and let it soak on high for 2.5 hours. I watched the temperature the whole time and it took 2 hours to reach 180 degrees, and it stuck at 205 degrees for some reason, so I think it was only really binding to the fat for the last half hour. You want a temperature between 180 - 220 degrees to bind the THC to the fat.

I then ate one sandwich and spread it VERY thin just to get a test dose and I'm impressed. I full sandwich or a sandwich and a half would rock me. I plan to do that tomorrow. It's labor day!

Works good in a milkshakes and throw in chocolate chips using chocolate icecream. Be careful don't make it too strong. ABV can be potent.:evil: Don't underestimate the power of ABV.
