Questions about Vaporization high

Hey guys, I'm pretty new to the community and am going to soon be purchasing my first vape and saying goodbye to combustion for good (woo!).

My question is whether different vaporizers produce different highs (barred all other things equal). I'm looking into either the FF 2 or Pax 2 for my purchase and was wondering what kind of "feeling" these two eminate or if most vapes produce the same results.

I've used an mflb before and tried a pax, although I was well into my second edible at the time that I used the pax so the results were a little skewed lol.

Not sure if this is the right place for this but appreciate any help!

Most of the time it comes down to personal preference. A portable won't be as hard of a hitter as a desk top style vaporizer (plug in). Some vaporizers produce a harsher type of vapor that other vaporizers. I've heard good things about the vapor with the Firefly and I've heard good things about the newer Pax 2. The older model Pax I've tried and didn't like the harsh vapor taste.

I often suggest a Solo for a first vaporizer. It's a portable that's reasonable cost wise and well made. It produces pretty good flavor and it's easy to use. There are no small pieces to clean or lose.

There are 2 different types of vaporizers - conduction and convection.

Conduction is the transfer of heat between two objects in direct contact. Heating by conduction is easier to do and, naturally, comes at a lower price tag. Vaporizers like the Magic-Flight Launch Box and the DaVinci rely on conduction.

On the other hand, vaporizers like the Volcano and the Arizer Extreme Q rely on convection. These devices are more complex, since heat is transferred via air particles instead. And while more expensive, convection vaporizers have a few advantages of their own. A log vaporizer would be convection and they don't cost a lot.

The choice of vaporizers is bewildering. I had two choices at my local grow shop 3 years or so ago - the original DaVinci and the DaVinci Ascent. I bought the Ascent and have got as totally blasted as I ever did with spliffs. Depends on amount (dunno how much but I use very little, I'd say I'm micro dosing), strain (whatever the guy has) how long and deep I vape etc. The Ascent is a session vape and doesn't produce big clouds (in my experience) but if the question is can you get really high from vaping, the answer is yes.

I have found it takes a small amount of time when converting from combustion to vaporizing. I would give myself up to a 2 week adjustment period before expecting a strong high with the vape as compared to the combustion high. It may just take a little time to adjust.

There is a concept called a 'vape signature' which means vapes can produce different highs depending on their design. Personally I prefer a convection vape, like the FF2, because I like the vapor these vapes produce better, however, usually a convection vape will not get me as high as a conduction vape such as the Pax 2 which I really enjoy. Another example of how a vape signature works is you can get blasted using a convection SSV or Firefly 2 and then pick up the Pax2 or the Vapman and get even more baked (for me anyway).

Since this is your first vape be aware that it is highly unlikely this will be your only vape. You likely will end up with a wonderful vape collection. :2c:
Pls no I'm still letting myself live in the delusion that if I buy a good first vape I won't spend the rest of my paychecks on all the wonderful vapes out there

You hang around here long enough and you can't help but acquire several varieties.

edibles takes me 2 hrs to kick in
combustion takes me 45 mins to kick in
vape takes me 5 mins to kick in

use a lot flowers with vaping vs combustion, so its worth it IMO in the long run, u definitely save

your suggestion contradicts science. Inhaled cannabis is processed through the lungs and enters the bloodstream to the brain virtually immediately. "holding it in your lungs" is unnecessary

I would heartily agree with CK. I did exactly that a few years ago and still hold the Solo in HIGH regard!

And the comment about no small pieces to clean or lose is NOT TO BE IGNORED! Trust me on that one! :myday:

Yes it contradicts science, but i personally take that long for it to kick in, should be 5-10 mins but its not that fast for me, my friends take 5-15 mins and they are up there lol

I have not known a single person to remain unaffected after about a minute and a half of smoking unless they used an amount not sufficient for an effect.

The effect from vapes is real nice. I think you will like it.

Vaping seems clearer and cleaner, tastes like the jar smells and may cause me to shun sativas. Effects are imediate and a hard hitting vape will tear your face off with proper herb. I smoke occasionally and don't much like it nor the feeling of soot in my mouth.

vaporization will save many lives, hopefully less people combusts as more people convert to vaping, this applies to ecigs too
