Question about kief into concentrate?

If i have about 10 grams of kief, whats the best way to turn it into wax? ISO?

Iso would be the easiest way. If it is all kief then you can just dump it into Iso at room temp and wait for it to sink after some stirring or shaking, then strain with a coffee filter and allow the Iso to evaporate. A lot of the freezing for qwiso is not necessary if it is already concentrated to just the kief.

The Iso will come out as hash oil, but probably not waxy. It also will not have the flavor associated with other 'waxes' not made with Iso. It'll be strong though.

Kinda depends on what you mean by best.

I'm with farscraper, it would make damn good bho! Not as easy as qwiso, but if you're after the route that will give you best product I think that would be bho (assuming you purge properly)

im for the +1 to the bho idea. once you have done it, it isn't scary anyrmoe, and it's actually faster than iso, and imo makes a better product.

weedemon, did you find you had to mix it with trim/bud to displace the kief when blowing it ?

I tried it myself in a 12 g tube and found it a pain in the ass using a coffee filter because the trich heads kept obstructing the filter (worried me about having a 'blow-out'). I've since done it with some bud mixed in, as well as once with intermixed glass marbles and it went much better.

for that pic there i didn't add any kief. that was straight bud...

but when i do, yes I mix it with bud. to help ease the flow of butane though the material! 10g's of kief is a ton! and also use a metal screen! with a hose clamp! i'd be so sad to see that run blow out!!

btw glass marbles... i never thought of that. a good filler huh? and you can freeze em before hand to keep temps extra low

I just made dry ice kief, then made that into BHO. I have never seen anyting melt so nicely. It looks like golden shards. hate to say it but looks like meth

bho is the best i have found that you can do the same with butane as you can with iso just put your cans in the freezer for a few hrs poke two holes in the lid of a jar and blow frozen can into jar and poof liquid butane !!!! mix in keef with a few good shakes let it settle and pour thru a coffee filter.PURGE,PURGE,PURGE AND PLEASE USE ALL SAFTEY MEASURE WHEN ASSOCIATED WITHY FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS AND GASSES NEVER DO IT IN AN ENCLOSED AREA BE SAFE !!!

Skunk pharm has a good detailing on this process, weedemon. It's called a thermos soak extraction and is supposed to help increase yields and taste from what I understand. Although you may pick up some additional waxes with this method also I would think, not a concern if you are post washing with a polar solvent like ethanol afterward any way. The idea is to to use the thermos as a makeshift dewar chamber giving you the ability to do really longs soaks in butane like a closed system could do such as a tami extractor.

iirc it was 10% yield and good to dab considering starting materials...
