Yes time to invest more cash i think. Don't get me wrong though I've had this thing on me since it arrived and its fantastic for stealth. I can literally have a quick blast anywhere. Can't agree on taste though but each to their own.. It will do me for a month or two untill i can upgrade ( cheers Christmas ! ) I'd like to see these guys build a more premium version of this model.

Edit: come to think of it i have been vaping the same bud for the past 3 weeks ( lemon haze )so ive probably got a little muted in the taste bud depo. I'll report back when i next go shopping.

Well now then!!!!

Posting this for anyone who hasn't dismantled thier device yet.

I strongly advise you do so as i never until now and regret it!. If anyone's got that funny plastic taste like i did. I had had tape stuck all over the inside of mine ( 4 pieces ) which was ruining the taste I've now discovered. So have a look under the hood if you haven't already.

Also leaving the bottom cover plate off makes the draw resistance much much better! And I'm getting better clouds!

Now I'm really really happy with this at last!

There appears to be some inconsistency in manufacturing, as I've not noticed any plastic taste in mine, and the draw resistance seems minimal to me. Of course, that's without comparing to a unit with the bottom cover plate removed, but I've not felt it necessary to do so.

Reading other threads, and based on my limited personal experience, I don't think such inconsistencies are limited to one brand or only to low-price vaporizers. I'm thinking of one in particular, a popular mid-price portable, that I've quit using because the draw resistance is horrible (like a milkshake with a strawberry stuck in the straw), while other users proclaim their love for the unit.

Somebody said earlier that the Fenix is now over-priced, and I can't disagree with that. I think it's maybe a $80 vape at most, based on overall build quality and features, but it works for me without any concern for technique, and I get great clouds (I use it only on the highest setting), so I'm happy at the price I paid. I've pre-ordered a MistVape Touch though, in the desire for pure convection (hopefully) combined with swappable batteries.

That's a great description of how this was for me!

Seems the vent in the base cover is not in line with the actual hole hence the restriction, i can now adjust the restriction with my finger over the hole which is neat.

I'm guessing on the tape inside my unit is a result of whoever built it not being particularly bothered to remove it as I'm sure he/she/heshe's on a great salary.

Anyways I'm hitting it hard with this now and the taste is much improved.

I do have the iv1, I would say it does have more open draw, and removable battery is nice. But I find I get inconsistent results with it, if I don't pay attention I can overpower the heater. I also prefer the taste from the convector to the iv1. I find the iv1 dissipates flavor more quickly.

I am vaping for almost 7 years now. I own the Vulcano Digit, Arizer Extreme, Arizer Solo, PAX and Haze V3. But since I did not find yet the perfect portable for me I was still having a look around.

I wanted to have a convection style vape because I was never happy with the taste and flavour of the PAX or the Haze.

Then I found this thread about the fenix with all the positiv comments.

I was anyway going to buy a new vape and since the price for the fenix is realy good I gave it a shot. And I have to say that I am very happy with it.

After so many years of vaping and trying diffrent devices I was realy suprised how well the fenix performs, how fantastic taste it has, nice smooth coulds of cool vapor, simple to use and clean (not like the Haze with the little baskets) and and and ....

I am more then happy with this one. I was willing to spend more but the problems with the Mighty and the crafty (and also I never liked the design on them) made me stay away form them.

Its such an nice device and also the effects form vaping are great.

I can highly recommend it. Also people who are new to vaping like this device because there is no learning curve to it.

Can anyone with an arizer air and the Fenix compare them in terms of vapor quality specifically? Also when I use my Fenix on the highest level I feel lots of hot air on my throat before I get vapor production, this doesn't happen on the conduction only units I've tried... Why?

I don't know how it compares to the Air, as I've never used one. However, I can tell you that on the highest setting, my Fenix/ Convector provides vapor immediately. It does get warm as the session goes on, but not right away. It's all subjective though.

oh damn, it usually happens when the load is pretty much done and I'm too high too realize how long it has been with that one bowl.

I have the solo and I feel the solo provides better flavor and cloud density on the lower temp sub 375f..and normally on the fenix I do a session on green and blue on soft mode (slow flash) then finish the bowl later on red on enhanced mode..a lit tip when on higher temps pull slow until the the light stops flashing then pull hard..I get consistent quality results like this

The vapor quality on the arizer air is very good - compared to the fenix I would say that on the arizer I can feel the flavours even a bit better - but it is only a very small difference - also the fenix has a great tast to it - on the other hand the vapor from the fenix is even finer and smoother than on the arizer. The best vapor quality I ever tried.

The highest temp. setting you should only use for concentrates and not for dry herb. I use the fenix only on the 2 lowest temps green and blue for best tasting and pleasant vapor.

So if you want the last little bit of tast and flavor the arizer would be an option - even it is not so convenent and confortable to use compared to the fenix.

You guys are realy suspicious on this board here ;-)

Ok my english is not the best because I live in Switzerland - where I also bought the fenix in an online headshop for 99.- CHF. I know that a lot of guys here bought it for far less but for me it's still ok price.

After many years of vaping I am just happy that I have found such a nice device for reasonable money.

I hope this is ok ;-)

I think the train has passed for a rep from China to push these on FC..plenty of information out ..up to the consumer to decide how much this vape is worth...I got mine for $62 ..and I honestly would not pay more then $80 if I choose to replace mine in the future. If they made a ceramic or quartz chamber, a better battery, and full temp control, and a better mp than I wouldn't mind paying $100-150 for it. On a separate note..does anyone have the swift pro or cfv..and know of the wood rings fit the fenix chamber?

Made a glass mouthpiece using an ejuice bottle, some PTFE and the 2 spare o rings that came with the vape.
Works really really well!.

The flavour is so good it makes me wanna lick my own tongue.

Hey ..just found a US retailer
http://www.smokingvapor.com/fenix-vaporizer.html
Enter DEAL15 for 15% and shipping is free ..
I am in no way affiliated with these guys or used them before..got the info from the Alibaba rep I worked with.
So $85 total ..more than edit but less than anywhere else I've found..they only ship to US and Canada

So this deal is still active but smoking vapor is currently having a sitewide 25 percent off sale. So with code new25 you can get this for 75 dollars shipped in the US at the moment.
