Finally got my convector. Ordered on Sept 15 received on October 12.
Some thoughts.
Very similar in size to the boundless cf. Slightly taller, less girths.
Despite being an older product, the options seem more fleshed out than the cf.
Let me preface this by saying that I took off the stock screen on the mouthpiece and loaded the material and capped it with an arizer eq cap.
Loading the convector is much simpler because there isn't any area for the material to get stuck into area that connects the "cooling chamber". It's sorta like having a funnel. Not as snazzy as the crafty or mighty's loading tray, but as good as you can get, perhaps even better because of less parts to go missing.
The vapor quality is where this vaporizer shines. With a small load of. 1 gram of material, I was able to take approximately 5 deep draws before the load was cached.
The first 2 draws were very nice (blue setting) after that, the flavour but noticeably harsher. Still, pretty decent.
Compared with the cf, id day that the vapor quality is quite a bit better. Better flavour, but similar in efficiency.
Where the convector, in my opinion shines (to my surprise) is the draw existence is very minimal, almost as good as the mighty, and much better than the cf and arizer air.
It may be just me, but I'm really impressed by this unit. At this price, it's unreal and likely one of my best purchases I've made in a long time.
Some cons:
Vapor gets quite harsh after a few draws.
Battery life - still not too sure about this. When I got the unit, I charged it until the led underneath indicated green (fully charged). I turned the unit on and let it run for 5 minute sessions.
On the blue setting, it ran for 11.5 sessions before the battery was out. Do keep in mind this is the best case scenario. During these pseudo sessions, no draws were made, so basically there was no load on the unit / battery.
In actual use I've gotten 5 sessions, which to me is quite disappointing. But when I sit back and realize that this thing was $61 Canadian, shipped (took for freaking ever though) there really isn't any place for me to complain.
At $60,it's a no brainer. Buy it, hell go nuts and buy a couple.
At $100, it's a great deal still. I'd buy it at this price
At $150, it's closing in on the price I paid at PIU (with coupon) for my boundless cf. Still a great value.
At $200, I would recommend looking at other options as the price range between $150-200 gets cloudy.
Basically what it comes down to is.... I got 75% of the s&b crafty performance for 1/8 of the cost.
Value wise, a definite 10.
In absolute terms, a solid 7.
The mighty, in absolute terms still sets the standard after all these years (10/10).
My cf in absolute terms, a 6.5
My friends arizer air, 6.5
