How does it compare vapor production wise to the solo/air?

I will let you know, as i'd prefer to test over a few days before giving you an answer to that. As to give the Convector a chance as I hold my Solo/Air in very HIGH regards... see what I did there... Be sure to PM me if I dont get back to you in a day or so.

@Gibarian the utilian looks very similar but is listed as having 8 temp settings. Hmmm very confused

It very much looks like the same item by closely looking at the pictures, but with just possibly different programming to double the number of temps which I guess the manufacturer may charge more for and any seller can request for their rebrand.. or possibly that the 8 modes include enhanced mode and soft mode combined and it is in fact exctly the same? I'm not gonna spend over 200 to find out.

Aye, I am pretty sure, it's just the 4 temps times two with the two modes ... Not too impressed of FUCKING LIES, however I do not claim anything as a fact, as I do not own it, might be a totally different unit, I only assume my statements - no slander / abuse of copyright law bull's shit intended, obviously. :D *update: by a blog named Vapesterdam: "It has 4 base temperature settings and a boost mode that will bump each temperature by 5 degrees celcius allowing the unit to offer great temperature flexibility. " call it unbiased, non-commercial review, lol. So sick of these reviewers TBH..

I like my "convector", but haven't found the 2 modes to be of use. Maybe they're helpful, and maybe I'm just not that particular, but I tried them a few times, and couldn't discern any difference. If it's not hot enough, I just bump the temperature to the next level, and all is good. This thing works great though, so just ignore the marketing hype.

Thermistor kicks in both modes anyway, "slow" is just a bit of a battery/load saver, shouldn't affect performance IMO, just heats less often (stuff gets roasty either way, don't think anyone would notice the difference in the timeframe of that - battery definitely last at least a session longer though.

@Gibarian, I'm in need of some clarification. Are you saying that the "soft" mode extends battery life? If so, I'll give it a try.

I have that impression yes. I am still sort of unsure what the exact difference -technically speaking- is between the two modes, looks like the pressure sensor is involved in both, I guess when "enhanced" it is a higher wattage/heat output in the same amount of time. Battery definitely last longer for me, when soft moding all the way - though I prefer the "enhanced" for some reason.. like it's a bit more constant performing, more dense the cloud is..

@Haunts bit of a newbie question but do you know what size the o ring is or how thick it is? thank you and sorry for pestering but the glass looks so so good.

Its about 0.5mm thick. I would recommend the rizla option though its much easier.

Haunts,
Charged, swabbed out, burn off sessions complete. Mine works well and had no offensive odors, so far i'm pretty impressed! On enhanced mode I seem to only get 3 chambers to a charge, there was still a little bit of battery left but only enough to frustrate on the next bowl.

Will experiement with it more when I get home. Shaping up to be a new budget king for sure.

I bought two Convectors/Fenix/whatever's, assuming I'd keep one for myself, and give one to my brother on his upcoming birthday. It turns out that my wife wants one on her nightstand, as a middle-of-the-night sleep aid (first device she could actually use without my help!).

This being the case, I'll ISO-clean, charge, and burn-off the second unit for her today, and I've just ordered another unit for my brother. Used the SEPT10 discount code on everyonedoesit.com (they required that I login to their site), and also received $1.95 discount for points from my previous purchase. With shipping included (charged me for this one, my other order was over $50, so it shipped free), it came to a bit under $47.00.

I can only imagine how much better vapes will become, with this example of what you can get for so little cost. I'll be looking for that super-bargain full-convection portable to come along.

We still might find that they don't last long, but it wouldn't be the first vape to crap out on me. I have one that listed at about $350 (though I bought it on a half-price sale), which I've had to send for repair at least 3 times, and which is currently dead again. $50 to repair it? No thank you, sir!

This little vape has become my daily driver my solo and fm pro have been on the shelf since picking this guy up..it is efficient pumps out nice clouds and taste is on par w my solo but flavor keeps longer.Drop a screen into the bottom of the chamber..swab out the the inside of the mouthpiece chamber once or twice a week to avoid the bad resin taste...use organic cotton and you can drop your resin cotton ball into the oil cup and get a few potent rips. I love mine..no glass to replace is awesome..shit at less than 50 dollars it's cheaper to replace this unit than to keep buying solo or fm stems. 510 drip tips fit just need to get a thicker oring for a snug fit..price, performance and portability nothing under $100 can touch this device. Enjoy

Just received my unit today....I really think they should consider a name change on this on....The Conductor. This unit is mostly Conduction heating the herb. It is very apparent when removing the ABV...That crispy dark brown color. Am I at all disappointed? Hell no! The vapor is flavorful till the end on Blue and IMO is a Boundless CF killer.

I used for a couple of years a solo and an air, and I loved them, since I got the Fenix I turned just a few times to the air. The quality of vapor of the Fenix is absolutely better, imho.

Purchased one of these last night from everyonedoesit. For $50 you can't really go wrong. I was wondering if anyone knows what the heater is made of? Is it a coil and if so what is it made of?

EDIT:
Decided to Wake and Vake this morning using the Titanic2 for the first time in months!
Great flavor and good clouds! Serious sweat fest was going on during the session from some home grown bud!

Won't say this mod incurrs total convection but it's pretty close. Can insert stem, immediately inhale and get vapor. Wish I had a bit more temperature flexibility for this mod, eliminating the direct contact make it tough to get the same coffee brown extraction I am able to achieve through the conventional means.

Stem is a strait Sticky Brick intake (1/2" OD) with a SONG for pulls through glass. I also fashioned a 14mm one to use with the native MP more comparable to @lazylathe setup (and results). Its a little whispier in the log type set up but far better for microdosing. I think a bit thinner glass would be ideal as the bricks intake is thicker than any log stem I've run across.

I'll keep experimenting.

While there is definitely a fair bit of conduction going, the only way I'd consider this "mostly" conduction is if you let it idle indefinitely (even then it won't fully cook). The SS chamber isn't directly heated, but it (like any stainless bits) retain heat. Definitely a hybrid.

I always wanted to pack the chamber above the bowl but broke mine before I got round too it, pretty sure that would be very close to 100% convection. All it needs is a small screen in top of the herb

Being in Canada would you say after conversion and customs fee this one is still worth it ? Im thinking it may end up costing about 80$ CAD.

Yes. Thats not bad, considering the exchange. Works out to roughly $60 US.
Was about to pull the trigger but shipping is actually 15$.. Not sure if I should now..

Edit: Nevermind, had to add some rolling papers to make it over 50$ (previously was 49.98$) then applied the 10$ discount ($10bucks!) and shipping went down to 7$. Im doin it!

Bring the price above $50 to get discounted shipping and use the $10 off coupon. Mine came out to $60 cdn, and it ships UPS Innovations so there shouldn't be any duty/tax on such a low value item.

Nice, a bunch of us Canadians are going to be posting about this thing when it arrives.

If you wanted to save a bit more, read what this guy said

"Ordered one today, $39 usd Ordered the vape and raw rolling machine.

First sign up for newsletter, get $10 off for subscribing. Use 150 points for another 1.50 off.

Note, the site sorta sucks. Once the items (vape and whatever you buy to push it through the $50 threshold) are in your basket, you have to "view basket" to be able to enter the code."

Just got my convector from everyonedoesit the other day. So far I've really liked it. The mod @nondarb showed with the brick intake tube works great for me as a wpa and I'm super impressed with vapor produced in my friends water piece. I also like to take out the stock screen and drop an arizer tophat screen in (leaving the blue o-ring for a seal, its tight but it fits for me). I've also found that the top hat screen that came in the ddave mod kit for the milaana fits perfectly in the metal cup accessory. So I've also enjoyed using that as a little dosing capsule.

Overall, I think it charges pretty quick, quick heatup, good vapor output. Definitely not as dense as mighty/cfx, but I'm super impressed for the cheap price.
