Puffit? and Inhalater or Pax?

Hi guys! longtime lurker, new poster and I would like some opinions about my current plan, when it comes to purchasing vapes.

First, let me start with some of my experience: I have an MFLB that is loved! I've had it for about a year, and have the PA w/ car adapter. However, the PA has spoiled me and now I don't find the batteries (2900s) to deliver sufficient vapor, so I only use it in my car (not while driving of course) or at home. I gain some freedom from a power source, I tried out an Atmos Raw look-alike, but couldn't get the "flavor screen" to work properly and it ended up combusting. I have also built a tabletop vape out of a heat gun, which delivers HUGE vapor rips, but once again is tied to an outlet.

Now my first question: ok. right now i have about $150 to spend and am looking for a discrete portable vape that I could use in public without having anyone give me a second look. This includes when going into venues such as concerts, clubs, and museums, and travelling long distances via train. For this purpose, I think that the new blue PUFFIT is the best vape for me, but I have a couple questions:

• what is the highest setting that I can comfortably hold the vapor in to produce no cloud and no/close to no smell?
• at that setting, about how many hits should it take for me to become medicated?
• at that setting, how long should the battery last?
• how long does shipping from discreetvape.com take? I'd like this sooner than later.

My second question: moving on, I also want a new, more powerful vape, possibly to replace my MFLB. The two I've been looking at are the INhalater004 (or XP) and Pax by Ploom. Things I'm looking for are:

• Which is easier to use? (stirring the load, turning on, shutting off, ect.)
• Which is smellier? (in use and not in use, when loaded)
• Which is easier to clean?
• Which has a longer battery life?
• How do they compare to the MFLB w/PA?
• Is one worth selling my MFLB and accessories to get?

I have the MFLB (with PA) and the Pax. If I had to choose one of them, it wouldn't even be close. The LB wins hands down.

I'm not sure what you mean by "more powerful" than the LB. If you want bigger thicker clouds then it is easier to get them from the Pax than from the LB, but there is a price. The Pax will go through your stash about twice as fast as the LB.

The Pax is easy to use, but really smells while it's in use. It isn't that difficult to clean but it starts to act up if resin accumulates in the wrong place, i.e. around the switch/retraction mechanism. In comparison, I use my LB a lot more than my Pax and I hardly ever need to clean it, and when I do it's a simple heat-up and brush.

It has only three temperature settings, the lowest of which is (for me) too high, 185°C/365°F. This means you lose the flavour almost immediately in the Pax. The LB/PA can be set wherever you like it, so it's easy to set it to deliver the low temperature tasty vapour that I prefer. The Pax heater is always on when it's in use and therefore always cooking your load, which is another reason the flavour is lost quickly. The LB/PA is only on when you are hitting it.

I have never used an INH but I can't imagine wanting to sell my LB to get one.

I sold my PuffiT cause it wasn't that great at delivering the taste without the "heated snorkel" taste to go with it. I did get medicated from it so it works and i have used it in public without anyone caring. I bought it to replace the MFLB that i also sold cause i HATED it. no matter what technique i used (and i tried them all) i barely ever got more than a "buzz" when using it. I definatly got more medicated from my PuffiT than i did from my MFLB. there is a huge legion of MFLB fans that will tell you differently and i am not saying they are all wrong... i am just giving you an opinion from a non-MFLB fan.

i have tried the PAX (i do not own one) and it gives great rips if you hit it slowly. if you rip at it too hard the restricted airflow will kill you. it requires daily cleaning and if you are OCD about cleaning that will not be an issue.

i do not own an INH either but i can tell you after reading about it and the more than positive reviews for it, i will say it's high on my list for my next vape.

i do own a SOLO and can say it is an awesome piece of equipment but may not be as "portable" native. i use a Planet Vape stealth adapter and put the SOLO in a McDonalds cup and it becomes portable and stealthy

as for your question should you sell your MFLB for a PAX or an INH?? if it was me (and this is only my opinion) i would do it in a heartbeat!!!!

I think I know where you are coming from. I started with a MFLB and eventually wanted more out of it (still a great piece!). I have the PAX and I love it, but I wouldn't recommend it for you. It does go through material pretty fast and there is a smell. I would say have a closer look at the INH, but I am just going based on what I have read, as I don't own one.

Your worry about stealth is overblown IMO. In public I've used the Puffit, LB, iolite, WISPR, and DaVinci, and as long as you're not using one 'in the face' of other people, and you just act like you're sipping a drink from a straw, the vast majority of people will take no notice of you, especially if you avoid exhaling visible vapor. What you're doing isn't as important as what your body language is while you're doing it.

As for actual use, the Puffit is the most disappointing portable I've used. Others are so much easier to learn and use. The Puffit, for me, just doesn't compete.

i've used the LB in public before, and it is rarely an issue when in use, i agree. i should have included this is my original post (i'll go back and edit now) that it's also an issue when going through security at various places such as concerts, clubs, and museums. any of the devices you suggested would guarantee ome scrutiny, whereas a slightly larger than normal inhaler won't. also, i have a tendency to take long distance trips via train, and when you're on a train for 2 days people start to notice you've been sipping on the same juice box for an extended period of time and ask questions. an inhaler comes with the "allergies" or "can't breathe in tight spaces" excuse.

For those situations a vape that looks like an inhaler would be better, just don't forget about the odor factor. In close quarters the smell is much more apparent to others than to the user. That includes both exhales (even holding them in as long as possible) and the odor that's attached to the unit.

agreed that in close quarters smell is apparent, i realize this. but what's the odor that's attached to the unit? specifically the puffit or vaping in general. if the puffit, could you elaborate?

Every time you use a vape (any vape) you create residue. With a portable all condensed vapor in the heating chamber and mouthpiece areas stays there until you clean it. If you've used a portable a few times without cleaning it and turn it on, even with nothing in the bowl, you heat up all that residue and create odor. So frequent cleanng is very important for stealthy portable vaping. You can short cut your cleaning requirements by running the vape when empty at a high temp, as a burn off session, but obviously that's best done when and where nobody will smell your burn off. A burn off may not take care of all the residue either. It would depend on the vape design.

I don't know about the Puffit...OF was saying it's a fun little unit, but I have not seen many glowing reviews or much presence from the manufacturer. As mentioned, you will never be 100% smell free and always have to keep guard in those kinds of situations. I was able to use my PAX in a crowded location by keeping it on low...great taste and minimal clouds. That being said, I am sure if someone got close enough to me and they were familiar with the smell, they might look at you funny.

How stealthy you end up being really depends on you and less on the unit IMO. Yes, there are units out there that make it easier, but I would focus on the quality of the vaporizer above all else, and Puffit seems questionable.

so basically just the normal smells associated with the vape? i can handle those.

I think the Solo is the way to go. It's very stealth when in a coffee cup or similar, and is an overall very impressive vaporizer in my opinion. When stealth and/or the ability to take quick hits are an absolute priority, then the MFLB you already own will fill in where the Solo wouldn't work as well.

I haven't used a Pax and its definitely got fans, but it's conduction nature, inferior battery life compared to the Solo, and the fact it's made in China turn me off. The Puffit has been much maligned by trusted, high tolerance users if you look at the thread.

Or wait a bit longer, save a little more cash, and look into the Thermovape Cera, which is shaping up to be an impressive piece of kit.

I wouldn't buy a PUFFiT again.

I just had a puffit die on me. It will initiate the charging sequence of blinking red lights, then stop. They offer no replacements either. I just emailed them and hope for an answer. While it lasted however (8-12 months) I really did enjoy it. First of my friends to have a portable and it was easy to use but didn't offer the battery charge indicator like the solo does.
